It does sadden me when people do not feel empathy for Seju and love Sungji unconditionally. I know there was this long talk on empathy when I was not a part of the chat. Many say it is innate. People just perceive things differently and they are entitled to their opinions.

Just... as a love story, the most compelling one is obvious to me. At least that is what I think Team Gaji has been trying to convey.

Seju has done wrong and Sumin has done wrong. Some people just take it as is and they do not hate Sumin because she is the center of the triangle. Sungji, on the other hand, as I stated before, seemed "unhateable" as she technically has not done anything wrong. It is a character flaw, ironically, if a character has no flaws and their only "flaws" are endearing. They seem inhuman, the term is "Mary Sue," if you know it. However, Sungji has been breaking, especially in the last chapter. So that is refreshing to see, more complexity to her character.

And till now, I think I truly can't see myself visiting the states.. and basically, I think it may develop into a reversed racism. So, I don't know how it is for you..

I know what you mean. No matter how much they will be talking about equal right for everyone, black lives matter, in reality white people do have privilege.

Just know... not every American is like the President, in fact, most Americans did not vote for him, if you want statistical evidence. I am from a big city and everyone is welcome here. Not necessary true. I think for the majority of the readers especially 19 y.o. and below, they don't understand. Like "love is passion, obsession, someone you can't live without." Only a heart that truly loves can understand love in this depth and way

True. So, it takes a heart who knows what love was, is and will be, to see that Seju was letting go of Sumin in chap. 1 to which at this point I'm waiting for Sungji to let go of Sumin. It was never meant for them in the first place.

how can I say this, the way the want to humiliated me in the Embassy, they way they want to check every device I had.. and how they searched me compared to how they searched Germans, (even in a rainy day with a bag full of documents, they didn't' allow me in with my bag.. I'm not christian.. still, find religions fascinating in a philosophical sense.. and the way scriptures are written is so linguistically proper, can't pass them feeling nothing. There was a period where I was obsessed with Taoism.. my mother thinks i'm an atheist XD.. but no, I love all religions.

I binged read and watched lesbian themed works just to understand WDTFS physical intimacies.

So after to your "research", do you find any "lesbian themed works" worth recommending? I am curious.

For the book novels, After Sunset and Creswell Falls by Kerry Belchambers; Fingersmith by Sarah Waters. For the movies: Room in Rome, Saving Grace, The Handmaiden, Fingersmith, Yes/No, Love or Spent, when the night is falling.

I only read Fingersmith. It was a good novel. I was captivated by its plot and endless twists although was too young (14 or 15?) at the time to understand the emotional aspect.

The World Unseen by Shamim Sarif is also a good one.

Just watched The Handmaiden. Wow... Amazing. I second that recommendation.

From the movie YES/NO and Love or spent is not heavy... just a simple plot..

I see. Simple plots are good too, as long as they are executed well.

After seeing The Handmaiden, I really want Park Chan-wook to adapt WDTFS. I watched several of his interviews about the film and he seems to have such a kind heart and delicate perspective, not only towards women and homosexuality, but other issues as well. A film by him would be handled so well.
