Personally, pedophilia existed long before mass media and was arguably worse. The interviewer will want to bring some more evidence before proposing banning free speech.
The problem here is that "pedophilia" is casually used to mean "attraction to anyone under 18" and confuses the entire issue. Attraction to 12+ or so is biologically normal; allowing children extra time to grow before being "on the market"(metaphorically speaking) is a very recent thing(even in the western world). We can see just how well things work out in countries where young teenage marriage is still the norm.
Nogami's Twitter did break down the argument stating that it was just nurture versus nature when it comes to depravity and sexual thoughts and that both sides were not willing to back down.
My personal view's a bit more nuanced: at their core, all human beings are "evil". Guilt, empathy and the others exist within us to direct our inner villain to be productive and kind. This clearly leans towards Nogami's answer, but there are twinges of Dooley's claim, mainly in that guilt, empathy and the others can be attacked and whittled away. However, there's enough work on video games and violence that we know that media isn't likely to make someone take actions that ultimately they're not predisposed to(that takes a mob).
And, of course, there's the Rotherham sex ring and its distinct lack of connection to animu. When your police refuse to take action for years despite knowing about it, you lose the right to criticize others on their handling of child predation.
