I think she gave her the earring to replace the one she lost. Also it was 10 years ago, forgetting some details is not unexpected.

I'd say this and Prism have my favourite confession scenes in all of yuri. The whole scene with the stairs a stars is beautiful.

Hahaha.... it was refreshing and good... and since the manga already had the yuri tag in it I was really sure that she was the important person for the other.
