I'm kinda new around here, but can anyone tell me what does the + tab is used for? So far i've been favoriting and subscribing several artist and series, but i don't see any difference anywhere.

You can easily find them in the list tab in the top bar. And if you make some list public, you can let other people see them.

Also when you subscribe to an artist, in-progress manga, or a specific tag then you'll get emails notifying you that they have a new release.

Which you could turn off in your profile should that clog your mail account.
