I'm not entirely serious, but given the last one to see her was a VERY pissed off Shizuru...

I think it's the same as what happened to her in the otome anime. I don't quite remember the timeline for it, but I do know she disappeared for a while because she got scared of being appointed as one of the columns or something. She ran away then got lost and trapped in some remote place with Mikoto./
