i'd love to see them to star to figuring things out by their own, like Mitsuki doing something impulsive and triggering Aya to say some big deal or vice verse
Mitsuki letting out something like "but I wrote them for you." after a arguer (proceding to be the most sapphic song ever) making Aya actually going to search and translate n being like Bella figuring out Vampires
and Narita and Co be surprise but also proud but also "HOW THE FUCK THOSE TWO ROMANCE INCOPETENTS AND OBLIVIOUS DORKS COULD DO THIS TO ME???? (organize a whole fucking prom for them to confess, and they doing it by the soda machine 3pm on a Wednesday)

I like the idea, the only problem would be that a Wednesday afternoon is the perfect day and time for a confession, and neither of them is that smooth or experienced enough to do it on purpose or lucky enough to do it on accident. I personally am still holding out for them to have a "MANGA MOMENT" (the accidental push at just the right time for a quick kiss) preferably in front of Uncle Joe or the friend group or both.

My headcanon for how they'll end up kissing is that Mitsuki will have just finished making a big romantic gesture like playing Aya a song and revealing that she wrote it for her (but like as a friend y'know, not in a gay way or anything like that), and Aya will be so overcome with emotion that she'll just grab Mitsuki's face and pull her in and kiss her HARD, probably causing Mitsuki to short-circuit.

I love it, these are some great ideas, by the soda machine XD

I don't know how you can say we've had no romantic development when we've gone from Aya thinking Mitsuki is just some nerd who sits next to her at school to being out to her friends about being in love with Mitsuki, who has in turn gone from being afraid of Aya judging her to writing suggesting songs about her and making those songs public.

Spitting gay facts! For real, this is so true.

Uh. Why are they having an argument now? What is going on?

Aya has been feeling insecure since chapter 98. She was clearly upset but wouldn't admit to it in chapter 100 when Mitsuki asked her what was wrong, even snapping at Mitsuki when she told her, "It's fine!" in an attempt to shut down her questioning. It was a big enough deal that Mitsuki noticed it and felt anxious about Aya treating her differently. She can tell that Aya is upset and acting weird, but she doesn't understand why.

Honestly, I think that's pretty realistic on Mitsuki's end. She doesn't know that she's a character in a shoujo manga (an important point that I think people tend to forget when they're evaluating how characters act) and she still has low confidence and self-esteem. All these interactions with other students now that she's popular mean very little to her, Aya is the only person she's let close to her heart. In Mitsuki's perspective, what reason could Aya possibly have to be jealous?

It makes perfect sense how this whole situation could lead into them both being frustrated with each other for things being so awkward and tense, but neither of them has stepped up and really tried to talk it out (yet).

It wouldn't hurt some of y'all to go back and reread recent chapters before a new one comes out, just saying. Several weeks can be enough time to forget some pretty important details.

^Arai-sensei is absolutely not baiting with the green yuri, it's incredibly obvious. She has a history of making yuri manga, she's into queer culture (including Western media), she's almost certainly sapphic herself, and she's tagged some of her social media posts with Mitsuki and Aya with #wlw.

This shouldn't even be a conversation, but this constant paranoia about bait is poisoning yuri discourse and spilling into real world consequences.

So many of the characters in this manga have beauty marks, Arai-sensei must really have a thing for them lol. Not that I blame her--Mitsuki's beauty mark really complements her appearance and gives her face a distinctive charm.

Honestly I just find the plot fundamentally unbelievable. You're telling me someone who can whip up an intelligent, human-passing synthetic with full sapience couldn't get funding from corps? Techbro investors would be dumping money on her faster than you can say "cheap labor." And that's not even getting into the idea that someone smart enough to make a sapient robot would go "oh you're just a robot, let me edit your mind now that you're obsolete."

Just incredibly contrived for the sake of the "disturbing" ending.

Do you also complain that Ray Bradbury stories are unbelievable? Because I think this manga fits right in with Bradbury and other works of speculative function.

Art doesn't have to be realistic--it doesn't have to be anything, it's art.

Chizuru finally put it together. I thought she might have already had suspicions before this, but evidently not. Now that she knows, I bet she's going to give these useless lesbians some much-needed help in figuring out how they really feel about each other! Major relationship progress is just over the horizon!

Ohi Pikachi is so good at creating romantic, heartfelt sex scenes.

They're both so precious and I love them so much! Mitsuki's development has been so satisfying in the last few chapters. Aya has been so supportive and Mitsuki is coming to terms with what that really means to her. This hug is an undeniable physical gesture of affection between the two of them that I think signals a change in their relationship, especially when paired with Mitsuki internally acknowledging Aya's love for the first time since Aya discovered her true identity.

It's a shame that this series might be on hiatus forever, it's genuinely compelling with a mix of horniness and wholesomeness. One of the cutest friendship-focused manga that I've come across. And who knows whether it may have developed into romance eventually? That could have been a lot of fun to read.

So just don't drag service staff into it, they are already fucked enough working in that industry.

You should drag them in.

Drag them right between and relieve all that pent up work stress for two hours straight.

lol yeah maybe the problem is that they're not fucked enough (disclaimer: I've been propositioned at work before, please don't actually do this)

And Aweida's manga are unrepentantly horny and also are structured like jokes (exposition to a sudden subversive punchline) like please you could have just drawn a standalone picture at that point

Twitter manga getting more and more popular as a medium sucks. Even the green manga is just stuck in a status quo loop

For the green yuri in particular, you may have a point that the platform/release style may be holding it back, but I think it's probably a good thing for manga as a whole that artists are able to share their work in a way that makes it accessible to a wide audience without having to plunge into the hell of being a professional mangaka with the stress of extreme deadlines and iron-fisted editors, which often drives them into chronic illness. Those with the ambition to take all of that on for the sake of publishing their manga commercially are still able to pursue that route, but that's not a lifestyle that works for everyone.

EDIT: Yeah no I've changed my mind about the green yuri, it's not limited by its release style at all. I think people just forget after they've been following something for awhile what the pacing was like in the earlier parts and convince themselves that they're in a drought whenever they feel impatient. There's been so much progress made recently in the plot and relationship developments, I'm sure there are even more major changes coming soon.

i really don't get everyone's reactions here. the story defies a lot of the "saving someone from bullying leads to romance" tropes. aki doesn't fall in love with iku-chan because iku-chan is saving her over the years. iku-chan just realizes she already loves aki when aki made some distance to save iku-chan with the bullies. no magic or heroic comeuppance came for the bullies, but staying by someone's side when they're being bullied really is all you can do sometimes. overall the story is understated in a pretty nice way.

I see what you're saying about the story subverting a few tropes, but it really didn't occur to me that the author might have been attempting to do that until I read your comment. I understand how you could find it refreshing, but I personally don't feel that the aforementioned tropes are all that bad or clichéd, so avoiding them doesn't do much for me, at least in this case.

I really agree with what others have said about the story feeling lifeless. Think about Aki as a character: she's essentially a semi-mute doormat, except for the one time she stands up for Iku-chan. Iku-chan feels a little more developed, but it's hard to find her very compelling when we aren't given any reasons for why she loves Aki. The dialogue is pretty bland. To call the art average would be generous. To me, this story is just forgettable. If I read it in an anthology, I'd probably just hope the next one would be better and quickly turn the page, rather than stopping and reflecting on it as I've done here. Putting the story under a microscope certainly doesn't do it any favors.

This was great, Shamiko and Momo are just too cute! I know season 2 just aired, but I need season 3 already!
