I took the interview as a nice sign of the author distancing herself from the fandom enough for it not to interrupt their creative process. This is something I think a lot more creators should do nowadays. Social media ruined many things and the creative process is held hostage by those who scream loud enough. Since that's usually what happens, it's not the majority, it's the loud folks.

^There was an interview in which she said Laios isn't autistic he's just a normal guy and when asked about ships (I think specifically Marc and Falin) She said she never writes those characters thinking about that kind of stuff but people can think whatever they want.
