Putting aside the matters of taste (seeing the full thing is better by the way) I think we all can agree that seeing the artwork as was originally drawn is preferable to having to deal with the current means of censoring like obtrusive black bars everywhere like here or the white voids so common in Hentai.

That one really highlights the absurdity of the censoring. Not only is it an absurd pattern to begin with, the whole purpose of the scene is the character showing her genitals. It's ridiculous.

Honestly, I see "it's better with the censorship forcing you to use your imagination" as a ex post facto rationalization than a positive reason to apply it.

I heard about this, but this is my first time hearing that there were 33 deaths (according to the edited OP on this thread). My condolences go out to all their families. Trial's going to be a while. He got brought in with severe burns himself (no surprise when you're tossing gasoline around), so he's not even in good enough shape to be questioned. I assume he's not conscious for very long at a stretch. So assuming he survives, and burns that bad can still kill him I'm sure, it'll be a while before he's fit to stand trial.

Are we supposed to recommend anything as long as we think is good? Because in that case the most popular series, like Yuru Yuri or Virgins' Empire, will get the most recommendations -- which will accomplish nothing, as everyone and their uncle has already heard about them. Or am I correct to assume that the idea is to focus on more obscure, less known series?

Also, do we limit the recommendations to series found right now in the Dynasty Reader, and leave out those series that were removed or have never been uploaded? Or is anything fine as long as it's yuri?

Well, the main focus is answering requests for recommendations with stuff you think is great and fits what they're looking for. So I don't know if we'll get constant responses for YY or VE or what have you.

But if you want to post something here out of the blue with a list of things you think are essential reads or whatever, I'm sure someone would appreciate it. After all, not everyone reads everything and it's easy to miss even stuff you think is universally known and loved.

It's fine if you recommend something that's off-site, by the way. Obviously it's easiest for people to find if it's something here, but maybe there's something on MangaDex we don't have, or something like Mage and Demon Queen that's hosted elsewhere. All that is fine, so long as it's not on one of the ripoff sites that we discourage linking to.

There is no reason to assume Dragon Maid S2 won't come out. It wasn't even confirmed that it was made by KyoAni in the first place, but either way, it's not like all their staff died...

The fire did more than kill people; the studio was the main pipeline of their workflow and housed most of their keyframes. Anything they were working on can probably be assumed to be cancelled. ...But, yes, it's unclear if KyoAni was working on MaiDragon S2 in the first place, and I personally doubt it

Considering they made a statement that their movies will come out without delay, there must have been some precautions at the very least. These days you don't keep all this stuff in one place. I mean it's kind of a given you make safety copies.

It depends on, among other things, where their servers were housed. Some stuff might have been kept on-site and others elsewhere. But also a lot of the actual animators were killed or seriously injured, so they've taken a huge hit to their talent pool. It's not just the directors, but all sorts of people involved with those projects, and now they're either gone or out of commission for months at minimum given how nasty burn injuries can be.

I can see them pushing for completion of the big ticket projects like movies with their remaining staff (people who worked off-site, at other locations, etc.), but there's gonna be a price that'll likely be paid with lower-margin TV work being delayed or cancelled.

I think the message is, "Even when things get tough, we'll make it together."

Or possibly "Actually talk to your partner instead of overthinking it and things go smoother".
