I think maybe it's a translation thing, like she might be saying the Japanese equivalent of "abandoned" because that's what you would say in Japanese and it's just awkward to translate in this context.

Could also be some weird Japanese guilt complex thing. They seem to have a cultural tendency to personally "assume responsibility" - or ascribe it onto others - over a number of things that strike Westerners as absurd and essentially force majeures.

Hoo boy... that said though, so far as we've been told Chishiro is a bog-standard baseline human and therefore fairly categorically incapable of producing sperm cells so if Kisaki's going to get knocked up she'll have to do that herself. As an aside there's a curious pattern of all the evident drama-involved characters so far being connected to Yatsude to some degree - namely Tsubaki, one half of the badly messed up sibling relationship (and thusly indirectly Hiiragi), and there's clearly some kind of less than entirely pleasant history between her and Yamashiro.

TBF the Generals in general (...sorry) come across as far more amoral than actively malign - they don't particularly care one way or another about humans getting hurt, but unlike their boss clearly aren't terribly invested in the whole invasion business either and prefer to just pursue their geekyquirky personal interests if left to their own devices.

...kind of makes you wonder what the Antinoids' whole backstory is but this isn't a genre noted for fleshing out that kinda stuff is it?

^straightening out the hairline where it no longer needs to make that upward loop because of ears is pretty trivial you know. All it takes is giving the matter a second of thought.
