I’ll be honest, every single lesbian route I take in a Fire Emblem game after Awakening is just an attempt to reach that ever-distant horizon of a Tharja romance for female Robin. I’m still searching for that mythical promise to this day.

Yeah, I think this story really is carried by its moment-to-moment quality and how you get invested in the drama and suffering of the characters. Couldn’t put it down, had a lot of fun.

As far as the wider implications of the plot—I felt like it could have told two equally good messages here: 1) about the solidarity of women and the ways we chose to live in and cope with a misogynistic society, with an uplifting message about our power to defend each other and to help each other escape abusive situations, or 2) a story about how misogyny harms everyone to some degree, and how working against it should be motivated by compassion and healing and not hatred. Unfortunately I feel like those got tangled in an irreconcilable way, and turned in to misogyny apologism, and the poise plot threads were tied together in a super sus way. Really sloppy story planning made interesting by the drama and character moments—really doesn’t feel like it was planned. I kinda liked it and kinda hated it. Very unusual.

I thought I was going to get a rare depiction of sex workers and the emotional good that they can do in helping people experiment/process things around their bodies and sexuality, but I suppose this is kind of cute. A little disappointed maybe, but this is p good.

?? Why is the bottom/top dichotomy necessary here, it’s pretty clear they both fuck each other. Just because someone receives once doesn’t make them “a bottom,” most relationships (and most people) aren’t even like that.

It fucked me up when I found out Edelgard was running against us and manipulating things the whole time, and while I ultimately had enough faith in her to hear her out I can’t help but think that that’s how I made Rhea feel. It’s a brutal choice for sure.

I like how I understood what the TL page stuff meant without actually knowing what it was saying, and then had to look things up to find out what everything meant. Deep culture.

She’s either going to get bad feels, or it’s about to get really interesting.

No no no, let me pitch it to you: the bully comes to school the next day, with Morishima holding her hand, desperately trying to hide her face in embarassment but not letting go. People ask about what their relationship is throughout the day, and she keeps getting super freaked and lashing out, only for Morishima to constantly put her back where she belongs in the gayest way possible.

This feels a little like if Studio Trigger did a romantic comedy manga. I love it.

I liked the first chapter better than anything we’ve seen so far. I think two really forward experienced dykes falling head over heals for a smol conservative but non-judgmental gal and then boldly approaching her and making her do the shy is a really satisfying (hot) concept, and that’s what chapter 1 made me believe it was going to be. It feels like every chapter, I’m waiting for them to put some smooth moves on her, only to see the same “lmao they went beyond what is socially or morally acceptable and she’s not fighting back lmao” over and over.

Am I gonna drop it? No, because I love Suzuki Senpai’s character art, and the two gay women are crazy attractive. But I am a bit disappointed.
