^Yeah we'll have to see how it goes, I could be wrong of course but from my experiences with oshi culture it feels at least like they're playing into that. Where the story's end goal relationship is Kano and Mahiru, and at least it seems that Mei has grown close to everyone in the group so she would be okay with her friends dating. Who knows though, maybe it'll get crazy at the end and everything goes off the rails lmao

^I think with how some of the main characters aren't musicians the series leans into being a coming of age character drama, a bit more than a music series to some extent. So I'm still hopeful that the various romantic elements we've been seeing will bear fruit. I generally know to not get my hopes up too high, however I'm still hoping for the best haha

Edit: With Mei I'm not very worried honestly, I feel that she largely views Kano as her oshi. She's a super fan and her fan behavior is played up for humor, but I think she'll be fine as long as Kano is happy.

^Oh yeah I thought you meant gay sisters in a more general sense. Less incest like this, and more that Nearl gets shipped with varied ladies, Blem does as well, with the angels Exuiai and Lemuen are adoptive sisters that grew up together I believe, so still sisters all the same, and they also get shipped with various ladies. That's what I meant by Beeswax being shipped with another girl, she's mostly commonly shipped with Cardigan. So I was thinking more in the sense of sisters characters that are are commonly thought of as gay, and less incest. Though sometimes the various sisters do get paired together as well.

^I think about 3 yeah, though we also have other flavors of gay sisters as well, with horses, angels, at least one of the goat sisters is shipped with another girl, and I'm not sure if the twin birds are regularly shipped with any ladies?

^I'm really enjoying both series, and I think GBC's relationships are very fun so I understand why it's getting a good amount of ship art, though I do hope Jellyfish gets more art as we progress into the final. Especially depending on how the final goes, and how the relationships turn out.

I actually find this story refreshing in a lot of ways. I'm so used to seeing "prince" type characters who feel burdened by their persona or create a faux masculinity out of social obligation that it's really nice to see a "prince" character who genuinely feels comfortable and happy with her own masculinity. She actually feels butch, even if it's a butch identity filtered through the prince archetype lol.

I also really liked how they dealt with the whole rival/touchiness situation. The typical manga solution to this is usually framed as though it's Haruka's fault for not being assertive enough and the solution is she acts more assertive, but here not only does Rena deal with the issue herself, but Haruka's percieved passiveness is actually because she respects Rena's boundaries. Both of these little twists serve to give Rena a lot more agency that I've come to expect from this type of shoujo love triangle maiden role, and in framing the "solution" to the issue to be that Haruka should just ask before touching her, it resolves the jealousy and insecurity that Haruka was feeling while also reiterating Rena's agency. Her feelings of "I don't always wanna be touched by people" is maintained as a legitimate boundary she set up, which is exceedingly rare for romance manga to this day.

I could write more but I'm curious what other people thought. I think the story has more depth than some are giving it credit for.

I think what you're saying is a lot of why I said in my initial comment that Rena is very no nonsense at the end of the story. The amount of agency Rena has feels great, she deals with an issue in a very straight forward manner, and she communicates well with Haruka. Also Haruka shows general restraint despite her frustrations. It feels like they both really love and respect each other, and I genuinely love their chemistry and interactions.

I really love the art, and I also really enjoy their interactions and general dynamic. Prince Yuri stories are always my cup of tea, and this one was particularly good in my opinion. I genuinely adore Rena's ability to charm, while also being very no nonsense at the end.
