It's clear he's not biologically related but Mu Xiaoen's parents seem to accept him just fine as a guest at least, including snuggling on her mom, so he's obviously not just a stranger who's inserting himself into this family based on nothing. Yundao kinda comes across as being mean for no reason, claiming he's unwelcome here when at least for the parents he clearly seems to be accepted. She says "you don't make life easy for them" but since when is it the job of a needy child to make the lives of adults easier? Fuck off Yundao lol.

This series is a slow burn but it actually has something to say, the main characters quiet contemplating of what she really wants out of life the small moments with her love interest that chip away at her glazed over eyes little by little with each meeting. The “will the or won’t they” back and fourth tedium that some slow burns fall into aren’t felt here imo, because every chapter feels like progress even if it’s not always romantic.

I think this series is quite underrated, there’s just a lot of little things to like here that you might not appreciate right away

I enjoy how everyone has just given up on this and want the train wreck to conclude because they just hate the romantic interest that much LOL. If you don’t enjoy it as a traditional Yuri and more a weird psychological tale it’s not that bad
