But I don't get something. ASMR is supposed to make you relax, right? How the hell is anyone supposed to relax while listening to the sound of Sayaka and Asumi smooching and kissing and moaning in erotic voices while they tell us in detail what they are doing to each other's bodies?

They aren't all for relaxing. There are different genres of ASMR recordings. There's definitely a market for x-rated recordings out there.

Well, that's one way forward, I guess, although she really could have kept joining her in cosplaying as well. They could do a lot more as a pair, and there would be much less arguing about money.

I think this was a good choice for her at this time. Before the event, she was pushing herself really hard to get to a size she thought she needed to be to cosplay (and fit in her cosplays). This way, she can stay with Hinata and enjoy the community in a way that isn’t bad for her health. And she may find over time that she can break that mental barrier about being a certain size or weight to still enjoy cosplaying. Or she may not. She may come to really enjoy the photography and costume design. But what’s important is she made the decision that she wanted and makes her happy.

DomeKano is kind of just regular, bit raunchy soap opera, with an extra-stupid ending.

Problem with Japan are things like less than less than pointless censorship (it's even ran private business, and that business will butter up politicians to keep it that way), and attempts to always pretend relationships aren't often based on sexual intimacy first and other factors coming in play later. Leading to some weird stuff like "pure yuri", almost-but-not-quite homosexual "girlships" or Class S.

That's why DomeKano may seem out place, but it really is the contextual reality that is so twisted around it that it makes it stand out. Lot of that weirdness is also foreign import from a more puritan era, that Japan hasn't shaken off.

My point was more addressing the sexual and erotic nature of the show and that this wouldn’t be any worse than that show was or even on the same level. I mean it starts the episode 1 with them having sex. The difference would obviously be that it’s Yuri, but there’s been explicit Yuri shows before. In fact, it wouldn’t be hard to not show the full graphic scenes if that was an issue.

Where to start? There are already some really fucked up manga that were adapted as anime. Honestly, this story would look pretty regular next to Redo Healer or something gross like that.

There's even a very explicit yuri-service anime out there, Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid. I guess the upcoming Looking Up to Magical Girls will go somewhat in that group.

Only difference is that if this was to be adapted, it would at least treat sex and same-sex attraction with some respect (which is why I found ch. 17 off-putting), and not be just focused on revenge rape and torture, or just having boring, badly set up fanservice scene after another.

Seven Mortal Sins anyone? Just a straight up H-anime but censored as hell. Ayakashi Triangle also got censored too, even though it’s mostly fan service. There are definitely series out there that are more explicit than this. Oh, can’t forget Domestic Girlfriend, pretty certain that series had some not so safe scenes.

I dunno, after this chapter, I would not call Ayaka's feelings for Hiroko "love" anymore. Admiration, projection, identification, desire to emulate, they can all feel like love but they are inherently unequal and romantic love usually needs to be equitable.

Really, I don't buy this. It sounds more like it comes from pleasant but semi-bogus self-help stuff than from real people. Real stuff is messy.

I am sorry I did not manage to get my point across -- I was stressed and didn't have the time to review my post, particularly the second sentence, so I ended up writing something trite. What I intended to convey was that Ayaka idolizes Hiroko because the latter represents what she wants to be professionally. At least, that is how her interest in her started out in the flashback. Ayaka has a deeply-seated insecurity about herself, presumably a anxiety about failure, and latches onto a person who she perceives as perfect, oblivious to the fact that she has only ever seen one of Hiroko's facets, her persona at work. She calls it love and even the manga's title says that, but romantic love in the way I have experienced it is rooted a desire to be with someone, not to be that someone (if your or anyone's experience has been different, I am sorry I cannot say much about it). My point is that Ayaka is chasing a false idol without seeing the shitty person behind it with whom she can actually fall in love.

Ehhhh, this isn’t what I got from this at all. Hiroko’s work ethic and how she’s able to be so kind and cheerful peeked her interest, but I do not get her wanting to BE Hiroko, just learn more about her. That’s what is going to be her drive to come in everyday. Dressing up, making her lunch, everything was an attempt to get her attention. She didn’t copy her and Ayaka already has recognized work ethic and performance.

I always felt deep intimate friendship + sexual desire = romantic love. I've been "yelled at" several times, for that belief, in the story comment sections. However I honestly can't think of any other way to define it.

I will say, sexual desire isn’t necessary for romantic love and romantic love isn’t necessary to feel sexual desire for someone. They are separate things and while they are often intertwined that is not always the case.

And you can’t actually argue with them since they have no intention of doing so in good faith. The comments section on MD for this series just reinforces a lot of the themes of this series for me. To the point I’m just avoiding them now.

I don't get why Riri keeps trying to win the prez's love. The prez was clear when she told Riri she likes the nurse. And from the extra we know that the nurse loves the prez. Riri has 0% chance.

I think the only way she can finally give up would be seeing the prez and nurse kissing while hugging.
Ami is an adorable and funny girl. I'm sure they will eventually end up together but I wonder how.

Who knows. We aren't always rational when it comes to love. And while we know that the nurse loves the prez, I doubt Riri knows that. Her thought process may be that the nurse will turn the prez down after graduation. It may very well take seeing them together for her to finally process and accept it. Or maybe Uda's presence and comfort will be that spark. Time will tell.

Well, I wouldn't say that there's not enough content. The LN's are up to volume 7 (volume 5 is being released in EN later this year) and the first season covered volumes 1-3. So there's content for season 2, so it's more a matter of producing it than waiting for more content.

Actually LN6 just came out in January so a S2 would be pretty snug right now. LN4 English drops April 18 (LN5 in August).

I'm sort of conflicted on MagiRevo because the world building isn't its strong suit (and book Anis loves infodumping way, way too much) but I think the anime did end up a bit disjointed from excluding some of it. Focusing on the relationships was still probably the right call though.

Volumes 4 and 5 are available for preorder in EN. Series is currently ongoing at volume 7. Anime does in fact cover volumes 1-3 of the LN.

The direction they took was not ideal, but it was one that solved the problem in the short-term for now. The series is not finished, so a "fix" can still be found. If this was the true ending of the story I would have been sad that it had to come to this, but I look forward to where the novels will go from here. A season 2 would seem far off considering how far the anime got. There is simply not enough content to make one yet.

here is all the details i can remember! it was a multi chaptered manga. there were two women that had a really close friendship. both of them had frequent boyfriends here and there, but they enjoyed playing with each other a lot. like they'd tease the other in public or do it in somewhat crowded places. their relationship felt very natural and loose despite all the sex and they loved each other a lot even if they were with other men.

i remember two scenes very vividly: in one of them, they were doing it on a bed. one of them was doing her from behind with her fingers and i think she said something like "huh, so this is the view men get to see regularly... its beautiful". then she told her "hey so i heard it feels really good from both sides. wanna try?" and then she does it anyway and the bottom squirmed a lot and made both of them fall off the bed... they just laughed it off. the other scene was just them in the afterglow after doing it. the moon was shining through the window, and one said "you look beautiful under the moonlight". i think that may be perhaps related to the title of the manga but i can't for the life of me remember what it was...

In fairness, Momo is the youngest child of the family. That makes her, what, 3rd in line for the throne? Unless her two sisters kick the bucket without any heirs, she’s not following her mother’s footsteps. Her marriage would have mostly been for an alliance (and for tradition’s sake), but in this case, the Queen decided that Aki’s plea outweighed the need for to abide by the old customs. It was a bit sudden, but I find it satisfactory enough.

Less Aki's plea and more Momo's happiness I think.

Also, 3rd in line is quite a bigger deal than people make it. It would be a minor thing if she was like 20th or something, 3rd is a bit away from being the heir.

Let’s not forget that it seems same sex royal couples aren’t unheard of in this setting. Kunya-Sama only stopped pursuing Momo because of Aki’s love for her and didn’t want to get in the way. So it was an option for her and it’s entirely possible that Momo would be engaged to Kunya if Aki wasn’t around.

As such, adoption is possible and expected for future heirs if needed. I don’t think it was mentioned, but if her mom had siblings and their kids had kids, then they could adopt from them and still keep the royal line intact.
