These girls have that "real girl" feeling that a lot of manga MCs lack.

It's all in the small details... like Yui's constant playful and overimaginative antics, or the way they point to us that Nozomi is 1) an older sister, 2) a class representative, and 3) owns a dog -- to explain why she just can't say no to Yui's happy face sparkling with innocence and eagerness.

From Taiyaki,

Thank you for your concern, as you said Ichitonibun Noichi is currently suspended. I'm still busy everyday with my parents help this month, and I'm really sorry I don't know when I can go back to writing..!

Suddenly, being bullied by a Sleazy Evil Editor doesn't seem so big a problem anymore.

Something I don't get: they're acting like it's the first time they make love, and Maki even says it's the first time someone who's not family sees her naked -- implying she's a virgin or something.

But I'm sure Maki, in chapter 1, seemed way more competent when it came to these matters. She met Midori again, and Midori kissed her on the mouth as a goodbye... and so, for their next date, Maki had her nails cut short -- which I read as a hint that she was expecting some good old second date sex.

And, in chapter 3, didn't they have sex that night? I mean, when they slept together at Maki's place? Or did I completely misunderstand everything about that scene???

When your daughter tells you that she HATES the things you have been doing to her for the last 20 years, and that she's been thinking of dying because she seriously believes it's better to die than to go on living as your puppet...

... I kinda suspect that the right reaction isn't really to say: "Ah, good, Nagisa, you're finally standing up for yourself and challenging me! You have become strong-willed and assertive! This is great, my parenting is a success!"

Wooh! Food and Yuri. The best combo that makes you hungry.

I suspect you may also get thirsty. Just sayin'.

Also did i remember wrong but wasn't ex singer ship with the Cooking club Senpai ?

Hehehe, you've been reading the "Manga in Spanish" thread, I see.

Yeah, you're right. This chapter has been up in Spanish for a long while, and we Spanish-speakers have been discussing it in our forums for weeks. At first, we too thought that this girl, the ex-vocalist, was a new love interest for Aki... but then we remembered that Ex-Vocalist-chan has already been paired with Cooking-Club-sempai... which means that she's taken and that, whatever her problem with Aki is, it's not gonna end up in romance.

Aki needs someone who will really love and treasure her. Right now, most people agree that the best choice is Miki, who is very obviously head over heels for her oneechan. You can't do wrong with sisterly wincest!

The "let's go on a date" story arc was so funny and captivating that it made me completely forget about the real storyline going on right now: Evil Editor From Rotten Publishing Company Is Bullying And Tormenting Tadokoro Just For The Lulz.

Poor Tadokoro is now trying to completely destroy her style (her art, her characters, her plots, everything) to remake her manga into a clone of all those bland, boring, formulaic shounen series that we see by the thousands in every manga magazine out there.

I'm really going to enjoy it when Nikaidou finds what's going on, goes meet that jerk and kicks his ass. Grr.

So an "Idiot Couple" tag means "A pair of dumb idiots. Not to be used on dramatic works like Citrus." Hehehe, not what I expected (in Japanese, "bakappuru" are couples who display physical affection in public and make people around them uncomfortable) but ok.

It's an interesting and rather huge list of comics that have been tagged already.

Senpai didn't sing "Happy Birthday" twice

You made me laugh so much.

I thought it was only in my country where they drove you crazy with stupid TV spots telling you to sing "Happy Birthday" when you wash your hands.

Women love sweets and men don’t seems to be a common stereotype in Japan.

Thing is, the Japanese word "amai" means both weak and sweet. In anime, you see a lot of fight scenes where some guy botches an attack and his opponent yells "AMAI!" to mock him -- as well as a lot of scenes in which a wee girl tries some dish, discovers it's really sweet and says "Amaaai!" in a happy singsong voice.

The homonymy of the two words has led to the association of the notions of sweet and weak, which many men find so disturbing that they entirely avoid sweet foodstuffs because they don't want to be connected to the idea of weakness.

(Of course, there are also men who love sweet things and don't care about the traditional ideal of masculinity. In manga and anime, you often see them in fancy cafés, eating extravagant parfaits and such, while the waitresses look at them with huge sweatdrops on their heads, lol.)

To be honest I got so hungry I nearly forgot this was a Yuri until the very end

Get used to this. It happens every damn chapter. This author is way too good at drawing and describing delicious food (and its effect on people).

Oh, a re-release translated from Japanese? Good going! The English version I saw before was Google-translated from Spanish, and wasn't all that good. There were many huge mistakes.

(The funniest one was in the chapter title, "Grilled Beef!" The dish in this chapter is made of pork and cabbage, there's no beef to be found anywhere!)

By the way, there are 9 chapters out in Spanish -- and I can confirm that the story is, indeed, yuri. However, it will slow the pace considerably after this rather speedy beginning, so don't go expecting cunnilingus by chapter 2 or something like that, 'kay?

Just saying, the conflict begins the moment you click into something you're not comfortable with, and when I see you all fighting against logic like that I just get frustrated.

Maybe is this specific story inside the circle of Yuri works with Lolis, age gap and tons of sex that makes you feel bad and you have others in this same genre that you actually like... But it's that's not the case, I just wonder what did you do this to yourself.

I like Jeanne's theory, which is a few messages above, in her reply to Lilliwyt. We have a goody number of people in the closet, here in Dynasty Forum.
In fact, that closet right now is probably more crowded than a third class cabin in a ship from a Marx Brothers movie. ( ͡^ ͜ʖ ͡^ )

I loved the title. It's French, but it can be spoken in Japanese syllables with perfect pronunciation. Kind of like what happens with "Qué bueno" or "C'est si bon," haha.

Kase has directly said a number of times that she worries that, since Yamada is so cute and sexy, someone will come along and take her away. But none of that possessiveness and insecurity has ever been couched in terms of sexual purity or the preservation of Yamada’s innocence.

You're right, of course, and I actually lol'ed at the idea of Kase on a quest to preserve Yamada's chastity or virginity or purity or whatever.

Were Yamada to find out, she would be puzzled. "But... Kase-san... have you forgotten?"

Well that's one new anime show to eagerly await, then.

(Lately I haven't been able to say that about too many shows...)

YAY!!!

You're missing her point.

This manga isn't making up stuff. It shows things that happen, as they happen, and many of us feel related to the characters -- and sympathize with their reactions, even when they seem extreme or crazy.

As for your American-style politically correct concerns, the Japanese author and the Japanese readers obviously don't give a damn... and, frankly, neither do we who love the story just as it is.
