Abolish monarchy, because it's bad for the royals!

nothing pisses yuri reader more that the guy winning the “women” through forced marriage WHILE the EX-girlfriend is an bloody happy hanger talking with a smile about her EX child(that was the result of forced marriage)

What ex-child ? What does that even mean ? Momo is born from the king and the queen, not from the queen and the tailor. And the forum is so far the only place i've seen peoples being pissed.

I think they were saying that the queen's ex-girlfriend (the dressmaker) is standing there smiling about her ex's child (the queen's daughter, Momo).

But yeah, hard to tell, it's not exactly coherent text.

...girl didn't Mao end this people what are landlords doing there?

So, there were these economic reforms in 1979, led by Deng Xiaoping, that allowed for more private action and inequality and also led to massive economic growth compared to Mao's famines...

Now we see if Bi-mom can accept Lesbian daughter and let her live happily or if the drama finally finds a way into this.

It's less about accepting whether the daughter is lesbian and more about accepting (or not) that your royal child doesn't want to partake in political alliances.

Akagami no Shiraryukihime is het, with a male prince in love with a commoner girl, but has the same issue: she's a commoner. Even though Zen is the second prince, That's Not Done. Usually, anyway. Much of the manga is very, very, very slowly maneuvering things so that Shirayuki is a plausibly acceptable wife, in the eyes of the first prince/king who is not inclined to romanticism, and whose approval is necessary for his younger brother's marriage (short of running away to some other country).

I expect this manga will end just handwaving away the point.

The bloop. THE BLOOP! Why must we be teased! Is the mermaid real or not?!

I wondered about that too.

Imagine having the money to buy rings and a 20k yen Christmas gift, not in my third world country

It's been said that was a typo, and that the raws say 2000 yen, or US$ 20.

Looking at Amazon, apparently you can get shiny rings for about the same money.

We don't actually know that.

"Is this sexual harassment?"

yes, but you're not the one doing it

It's so weird to have this series at 'will they or won't they' after so very, very long where people were insistent that they already were and that anyone asking for confirmation was being silly.

What are you even talking about? "Will they or won't they" what?

"Have sex", perhaps.

More generally, we've debated about whether they were in something like a standard romantic relationship, and the manga has recently answered that with "no".

As for this chapter... can't tell the difference between coffee and hot chocolate? Kasumi is an alien!

This arc continue to make me irrationally angry

Irrational only because it's just a story. If it were a real situation, anger would be quite rational.

Kase's decision has already cost the couple materially (missing a nice apartment). Not to mention the lack of concern for her partner.

So they managed to live together, but one to a trade school, the other a University. Maybe Japan has so many schools that there is always one for every city block...especially neither of them drive.

Japanese apartments are advertised with how many minutes walk they are from a train station.

By one survey, only 27% of trips in Tokyo are by private car. https://www.sc-abeam.com/and_mobility/en/article/20201203-01/ And those probably are biased toward the outer edges, families, or workers who regularly need to carry stuff.

If something is set in a Japanese city and they're not explicitly shown driving, you can assume they're getting around by foot, bike, or public transit.

I don't remember BL coming up in anything I've read or watched, let alone BL fans getting together.

I guess I'm still reading out of habit and vague hope. It's not like I follow so many series, or it updates so much, that I'm overwhelmed. I'm not thrilled by what I'm getting, and I have negative interest in Harumin/Matsuri. But hey, pretty girls, and will Mei-bot ever become human?

The Limited Edition of Volume 5 will come with a special booklet where Yurihime author will participate, I assume with a pinup. The authors are Iwami Kiyoko / Amemizu Shio / Utatane Yu / Orihichi Chihiro / Kashi Kaze / Takeshima Eku / tsuke / Mihata / Manio / Mukuki Nanatsu / Yuama

Will it be posted on Dynasty? I just saw the chapter on Mangadex. Was surprised to look up each artist and see that I've read something by nearly all of them. I think Kashi Kaze was the one that triggered my "wait, this style looks familiar".

I feel like a lot of people here need to realise that there's a lot more to a relationship than sex...

But when the relationship started with a good degree of sexuality, and they're supposedly horny teenagers who literally share a bed...

There's the original use of 'thou' etc. and there's what people interpret it as today. Even a professional linguist like Tolkien stooped to using it both ways:

In one or two places an attempt has been made to hint at these distinctions by an inconsistent use of thou. Since this pronoun is now unusual and archaic it is employed mainly to represent the use of ceremonious language; but a change from you to thou, thee is sometimes meant to show, there being no other means of doing this, a significant change from the deferential, or between men and women normal, forms to the familiar.

Or as foreshadowing "hang in there, it gets better from what's about to happen".

Still waiting on confirmation of if Mori-san is a girl before celebrating the birth of a new yuri couple. They could just be a guy who notices the small details.

Mori has obvious boob curves, Okano calls Mori a girl... Mori could turn out to be a trans man but it seems an unlikely narrative direction.

My thanks to the translators. Fun series. And Subaru is such a gremlin.

The asexual ending was well-foreshadowed. Could have gone differently, "awakening" and all, but works either way.

My fluent friend says "A quick Google takes me to a restaurant where their really premium parfaits are 3000 and 3800 yen"

64 dollars and 34 cents to be precise.

No point in being that precise when the exchange rate fluctuates moment to moment, is abnormally extreme at the moment, and of limited relevance to people in Japan buying locally made goods and services.

And 8500 yen still seems nuts, especially for the OL to buy without flinching. Compare to prices here: https://www.timeout.com/tokyo/restaurants/best-fruit-parfaits-in-tokyo most expensive is 1785.

This is pretty good! Funny that, according to Wikipedia, "Camellia plants usually have a rapid growth rate", but Camellia in this story doesn't appear to age at all.

Plastic plant.

8500 yen? More than $60 for a parfait???
