The quality of the series really went down hill. I think ever since they switched publication or whatever it was and then started the sequel series.

Maybe the author doesn't know how to write a none high school story proper so just forces the drama to make a story. Or they have a editor that is pushing them to add drama.

The first episode stayed true to the first chapter everything was really similar, which was great, especially getting to see the rock-out scene with actual sound :)

My main question with the time travel is what happened to the Mary of the new timeline. Mistress still remembers her so she wasn’t erased, but she doesn’t seem to be around.

My guess is she died as a maid and came back in time in the new body, her soul changed places with the new body's soul. This a common formula for this type of story if I'm not remembering wrong.

Mary looks the same in both timelines so rather than her "taking over" somebody else's role I think it's more like the new timeline she went back to is one where she had always existed as a noble instead of a maid. So there was nobody to be erased. Her Mistress simply remembers her from the original timeline.

that's a surprisingly level-headed explanation to the whole "don't fall in love" thing. Her mother's not a villain or romance-hating control freak. She just tried to delay smth she was afraid of bc she didn't know how to teach her daughter smth she wasn't equipped to deal with herself. And simply told her as much.

Can't think of many other instances where smth like this went by as straightforward.

Damn, Mom's being written too believably as a depressed Asian mother...I dunno what the author's intentions are but I actually don't want the moms to hook up? I really feel like sometimes there really is a time and place for everything and them pairing up would really be a bit too convenient and almost take away from the snippets of realism with Luxi's upbringing to have both daughters and mothers pair up. Though an arc where Tong Tong's mom plays wingwoman for Luxi's mom's post-divorce romantic adventures would be welcome.

I agree. I want them to be friends not girlfriends. I believe they'd both benefit more from being friends and it would be more realistic than them dating. Tongtong's mom is just too straight. Friendships are just as important as romantic relationships. Besides, I don't recall any of the mothers written as having any other friends.
