What subtext ? Why people still talk about subtext ? I dunno if living together throught HIgh school and college and planning to stay together after college is tangible enough for you, it's just could be just a heavy case of friendship. In all seriousness, there no subtext whatsoever or maybe in the first volume and again it's not very subtle. It's worth buying it, even if honorofics are absent because it's an english release.

7 years, no confessions, no romantic kisses, no sex. Come on, meanwhile their lesbian friends are open about the fact that they are fucking. It's subtext, plain and simple. This series will pull a symphogear and get an off-screen confession after the credit roll.

Not everyone needs confessions. And what makes all of the kisses that they've had not romantic?
This argument has already happened so many times, so please don't start it again.

It's not about being easier, it's about having a distraction. Babies are quite good for that.

Pets are also good for that.

Pets are mostly passive. Babies will tear down the walls until you pay attention. Aside from that, it's a person and something that is related to you. That is a good anchor for the future. Let's call it Uta 2....

Uta 2, or as we cool kids say, Futa

I’m wondering if Sayaka’s girlfriend is actually the girl from her swim class when she was a grade schooler. I’m not sure if they ever revealed her name or not but it would be nice if Nakatani Nio could make a bonus chapter revealing her. Also was it just me or was the last chapter slightly anticlimactic... I love the fact that they’re engaged but I wanted something more...sentimental. Like perhaps including the proposal. Idk, Bloom Into You is undeniably one of the best yuri mangas out there so my exceptions for the last ch was really high; but reading it was kinda,,, boring.

They're not engaged, they just have matching rings (the one's that Yuu was eyeing in chapter 42). Same sex marriage isn't even legal in Japan yet (if we assume that the series took place in 2015 when it first started, then this time skip would bring us to 2018 or 2019), so how could they be engaged?

Oof I meant like promise rings, sorry it was super late when I wrote that. Promise rings are like softcore engagement rings though.

Fun fact, the rings are actually Möbius rings (designed after the Möbius strip). They are sometimes used to signify endless love (since the twist makes both sides the same side). They also don't resemble engagement rings, which usually have diamonds and other decorations, rather they are more often used as wedding rings.
I personally see the rings as a way of saying that they don't need marriage since their relationship is already stronger than that.

It's pretty obvious this manga was building up to this ending in retrospect and it just had to rush it. The people acting like it came out of nowhere are just too wrapped up in monogamy as the default and had their blinders on to all the obvious buildup.

It was pretty obvious, but the series hadn't gotten to the point where this ending really made sense. Amane wasn't developed enough and Taru (at least to me) felt like she hadn't quite gotten to the point where she was in love with both of them, it felt more like she was in love with their relationship. The polygamy is great, but it didn't have enough build up to it.

^Drawing a big english letter with an italic pen hardly compares to drawing a kanji with a brush by a skilled practitioner- and it wasnt made to match that in the manga anyway which is what i was referring to- its just a big bold regular font that looks kinda naff.. If you wanted to emulate the effect you'd need a very fancy artistic, hand painted looking font at the least. I'd also like to have seen the kanji anyways to see the reading.

And doing just a big bold kanji character with no variation usually looks as weird as a Latin letter. And there are some extremely wonderful ways to do Latin characters with italic pens that easily rival shodo (i.e. Turkish calligraphy).
I'm not saying that what the manga had looked good, rather I wanted to point out that English calligraphy can look very good.

English letters / words dont lend themselves to being drawn big and bold - a single Kanji can be drawn as a work of art- but not the Latin alphabet. Nobody would write their name that big in English.

Just use a big italic pen and it'll look great. English calligraphy can look just as beautiful as shodo.
Then there's also this style.

this reminds me a bit of the classic Milk Morinaga's Gilrfriend's

Short and tall girl, check
Short and long hair, check
Dark and blonde hair, check
Spaghetti like limbs in some panels, check
Diabetes inducing, check

This is definitely a Morigana Milk story.

It's kind of rare to see curry cooking in a manga or anime that doesn't load it up with potatoes and carrots. But this recipe is still a bit too heavy on fat, isn't it?
I never put potato in curry, but I do put lots of other vegetables in, and as a result, usually I don't have to add water. How do you guys normally make curry?

If I were to make Butter Chicken, I would put tomato purée to after the juice and together with the spices make it into a very thick roux. Then I would just add cream to make it into a masala. I would also cook the chicken separately in an oven or a grill to give it a nice char.

I might at times put some stock into the roux inatead of just cream or yogurt, but never plain water. I also very rarely put any vegetables besides tomato into an Indian curry (onion, garlic, and ginger all count as aromatics), but with Japanese curry it's a different story.

I would adore kase x yamada marriage but isn't it illegal in japan :(

For now at least. I'm pretty sure that they could hold a ceremony and whatnot, but they can't get married on paper.

Thanks for the effort. Yuu did gud. I also had to

@elevown I liked the manga because it made it fairly clear that Tomari was the "correct" choice before the ending where they got together.

That's why I didn't like the anime, it made it very hard to choose, so the final choice by Hazumu was more or less forced so that she could help Yasuna. And then, to satisfy people who preferred Tomari, they made the OVA where she and Hazumu get together instead.

The manga was great. The anime not so much.

So you just don't want the manga to ever end?

Any last chapter predictions? I have no idea since we don't know how many pages it will have yet. The only thing I am fairly certain is that we will see some pages about their future life, living together and enjoying domestic life like they wished for.

The way the story has been going makes me think that the series is going to end more with a sort of "we'll see what the future holds for us", instead of us actually seeing it.
I really hope it's going to have their families (or at the very least Rei) finding out about their relationships. I'm also hoping for some closure with the other characters (Sayaka, Koyomi, Akari, etc).

Presumably she's dyed her hair because it will help her employment prospects if she doesn't look like a yankee. It makes sense in the context of the story, I don't understand why everyone has their shorts in a bunch over a dye job.

I'd say it's less about her dying her hair and more about the simple fact that she needed to, as you even said yourself, because it would help with looking for a job. It makes sense in the context of the story, yes, but that in itself is a sign of the problem with how Japanese often look at hair colors even when someone naturally has non-black hair.

I used to be a exchange student in Japan and I was told to dye my hair black (my natural colour is a somewhat dark brown)
