Wow a twist!

I'm pretty sure Touko is dating Rikka because she reminds her of her sister. I mean their auras seem similar (both cool, stylish and confident) and has the same friggen name. Prob as a "it's wrong to date my actual sister, and it'll never happen anyway so...."

If anyone ever gets a chance to see Raise A Suilen live, do it. You won't regret it. I was able to see them at Charaexpo and knew nothing about them, but I fell in love and enjoyed their concert even more than Roselia's.

... You know, from this thread and other ones on this site, I get the feeling that a lot of people frequenting this site have a thing against non-yuri stories in general. Is that right?

I mean, I get the complaints about this author's other work ending with a non-yuri relationship after spending the vast majority of its storyline giving the strong impression that it's going to end with a yuri relationship, and that's really shitty. But holding a big enough grudge that you'd never read another story by the author just because they might pull the same bait-and-switch ending again, even if the work has a unique/interesting premise?

A lot of people come for yuri so they don't necessarily wanna read something else. I do think the hate usually seen against het stories is pretty unreasonable though. In regards to this particular author, one work can show a lot about how they think about certain issues, so i can understand people's reservations about him.

How Idol pretender was handled was just....bad. It's biggest problem wasn't even the yuribait, but how he handled gender identity and roles. In Idol pretender the pairing everyone was rooting for was actually the het pair since MC was originally male and identified as male. The problem was that MC suddenly became "girlier" and "weaker" (went from beating up creeps to being scared and useless and needed to be rescued) the longer he was in a female body and ended up with his male best friend not because he identified as gay, but because he was in a female body, he had to end up with a male.

Hell i think the best friend and yuri love interest were done properly (they both accepted mc regardless of his body). Being with the best friend wouldn't have been so bad if MC was the same person throughout the story, but it was portrayed as MC seeing friend be more attractive as he became "girlier" to the point he didn't want to take the medicine to change back to a male so they could be together.

With such a fuck up like that, it's hard to believe the author understands gender and sexuality. I personally am willing to give him a chance, but if it turns het, I won't be surprised.

HAH I love how the author put in like 2 pages of text to drill in the clarification that Lily and Marika are girls in both worlds.

DID NOT see that coming. My guesses are Marika has a gf in the original world, but was still deep in the closet and in denial about her sexuality. Then her subconscious desire threw her into this yuri world where it is accepted. Rereading the first chapter, she really sounds like she's trying way too hard to convince herself that she's "normal".

As I said, by default I’m on the side of a yuri end going into a story, but these circumstances would seem to require a passionate commitment to the relationship by both parties, and Kaoru has yet to show a passionate commitment to much of anything since her pursuit of Numbnuts-onii-san, unless you count “drifting along maintaining the status quo” as a “passionate commitment.”

Yeah i think in the end what this manga really needs is more character development for Kaoru. So far she's only been portrayed as the "wife" and "love interest" but not much outside of that. We need to see her grow as a person before anything can realistically happen. I was gonna say this is a step in the right direction, but Kaoru didn't even finish what she wanted to do. It was Uta who ended up reconfirming things. If Uta didnt push on, I don't even know if Kaoru woulda said anything and just chicken out for another day.

Wtv posted:

She's in an unfortunate but believable position, and it's unclear how it will all end up. Maybe she'll just give up on her one-sided love some day, and the story will end.

It was asked to the author in an interview if they could hope for any development between Uta and Kaoru. She said that it wouldn't be a yuri manga otherwise

Seriously, though, people who ship the protagonist with a third party are delusional.

I will quote that from back in the past, for the sake of yuri.

I don't deny the possibility of an Uta/Kaoru end. All hints are pointing in that direction and of course one would think that way for a yuri manga with them two as the protagonists. I know hoping they don't end up together is like going into Bloom Into You and hoping Touko will get together with Sayaka. I just really don't want Kaoru and Uta together because the manga literally has not sold me on their relationship in these 20 chapters.

Sure I'll see how they handle it from now on with the confession finally out of the way, but it's been so dragged out and sprinkled with so many useless side plots that I really don't care about them anymore. Like there just isn't the emotional investment in their relationship.

Kuzushiro's "Living with my Brother's Wife" blows this out of the water and tMnR needs to take a pointer or two from it on how to write an engaging relationship between Wife and Sister.

All I'm hoping for right now is what I've been hoping for since the beginning of this manga: Please don't let Uta and Kaoru get together.

lol why do you even bother to give her a chance on a work that OBVIOUSLY says bisexual and cheating in the tags. Why read something you know you wont like?

Just cause Yuri fans dislike her for her bisexual and ntr work doesn't mean she's a bad mangaka. At least give some proper criticism about her work before you make claims like that.

I can criticize her, why? because i now what she writes. When i started to read yuri, she was one of the first mangakas that i know...and i always i feel that something bad was on...and yep, that's it...her stupid bisexual stuff and toxic mangas...and almost always must has a rape on it...so, yeah, that's why i considered her a bad mangaka, now you understand it?

"SHE'S A BAD WRITER BECAUSE SHE WRITES ABOUT THINGS I DON'T LIKE."

Okay dude.

Hahaha it could be possible that this mangaka could do a good Yuri manga? Really? It could be possible? ALMOST ALL HER STORIES ARE BISEXUAL AS F#VK!!!! AND TOXIC AND SHIT!!!!
If she love so much the men, then do a het shoujo manga xd (i hate this author with my soul, since NTR, all her stories, except the fake marriage, are bad and crap)

At this point there's no reason to get your panties in a twist because of her work. It's just her style and what she likes to draw so you gotta accept that. She does have the potential to make sweeter stories (like Renai Manga), but again she prefers this stuff. If you hate her work so much, just look at the tags and move on. Not worth the stroke man.

I'm just sick of her stories, I give her a chance and ALWAYS I over disappointed... don't hide the truth, she's a bad mangaka, that's all, that's why a lot of Yuri fans hate her a lot. And always put shit bisexual stuff...but y'know what? I'm done with her. I preferred ignore everything from this women

Ahh, I'm so happy to see more of AyaChisa! Maybe I just haven't been following the right people, but it always feels like there isn't enough of them.

I think it's because AyaChisa isn't very big in the international fandom. Aside from being overshadowed by popular ships like SayoHina, YukiLisa, and MisaKoko, it seems Endori prefers KaoChisa or KanonChisa. I am starting to see more fellow AyaChisa shippers after season 2 ep 5 though so I'm hoping we'll get more content for them.

I think most of us now are here to see if it will get better for Neeko.

I personally no longer have any faith in the author's actual understanding of the topic they tried to tackle with Neeko, so while I do think Aldehyde will try to set up a better future for Neeko in the end, without a proper medical understanding of the actual needs of people with severe anxiety and depression, any "better future" they come up with will be based on false assumptions and ultimately even more aggravating.

Ideally, I'd like to see Neeko end up in therapy and getting proper medical help, but since it's Japan, I don't have any faith either.

I dunno i like the non existence of the drama tag because it makes the dramatic moments all the more impactful and surprising.

HmmMmM some people might've a really bad day or life and trust me this is the least thing they would like to read by surprise when they're looking for some laughs

To be fair if they made it through chapter 6 than they know what to expect

Yeah I think the same. Tbf the manga did start out with a black comedy vibe and was light on the angst, but the angst got gradually stronger. I think if any of the earlier chapters before this one were unbearable to read for someone, they would have dropped this by now. I think most of us now are here to see if it will get better for Neeko.
