Why is manga tagged Anime and not the novel? I'm failing to process this.

I'm pretty sure the Adachi to Shimamura anime was confirmed. I only hope, with volumes already, they don't pull the same old, one season just for the cash grab anime has been all about lately.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but was chapter 100 the "main couple's" first kiss?

So how much interaction do they have in the anime anyway?

No romance sadly (the company responsible didn't let the creators follow through with it), but the subtext is pretty visible, you can clearly see that as close to the guys as she is, Rikka really mostly cares about Akane, and pretty much all that matters to Akane is Rikka.

The anthology delivers!! Akane x Rikka, as the director wished!

Chapter one was the "Disaster Lesbian Akane Show!" and I loved it!! Followed by Rikka being top tier girlfriend material, with Akane almost killing herself for upsetting Rikka, before realizing a better use for her sepuko knife. And ending with "Disaster Lesbian 2: The return of Akane's revenge. The Reckoning!"

Kinda wish the whole anthology was focused n their relationship, but this was super enjoyable, here's hoping for so much more content for this ship!

Ok ok, we'll go back and talk about these disaster lesbians, but can we just acknowledge how cool it is that both of Kaoru's older sisters are adopted?

About as "implied" as Flip Flappers ended up being.

Flip x Flappers is literally a journey of self discovery about sexuality. The themes are made subtext, being represented by the fantasy adventure shown in the series, but in the end FxF is literally the story of a girl (Cocona) realising her sexuality, and falling in love.

SSSS. Gridman had to keep the romance implied, because the company didn't allow the director to show Rikka and Akane's romance.

^ It's still a great show, and while the company did stop their romance being shown on screen, the director himself confirmed that's the direction their relationship is meant to go, so you can enjoy an awesome anime, knowing that after the timeline of the series, these 2 will get together.

I heard the director said sometging about executive meddling stopping him from having their romance happen in the show, but apparently, it's like Ryuko and Mako from Kill la Kill, confirmed canon by the creators, but not allowed to be shown.

For a split second Rikka wondered if maybe, just maybe, saying yes was a mistake...

(...Then she remembered that rack.)

This is still one of my favorites, but I maintain my stand on the fact that Yuu will be a marine biologist when she grows up.

Love everything about this story. Except the secret dating thing. Would really like that dealt with but apart from that it's terrific! So many of the things I bitch about wanting in a Yuri.

I was just rereading the chapters where they started dating, and the reason why they keep it a secret is actually one of my favorite parts of the series. Because they know their friends would be unbearable. Just like how they went to tease the other girl who got a girlfriend.

Also, congrats Japan for discovering the one true formula for successful series: lesbian dragons!

@KireusG I'm not sure, but I think there's even a scene of their shadows in a beach where they kiss.

Kana for the god damn win! That's grade A wingwoman material right there! One look at Harumi and she immediately knew "I should leave these two alone, let's take Touka-nee away and give them some privacy."

A couple of random puzzles:

  • What’s with Minato as Asami’s “first love” in the photograph?

  • How does Asami reconcile her supposed respect for her sensei with plagiarizing his music? Putting your name to someone else’s work is about the lowest thing you can do to a creative artist.

While learning from Minato's father, she saw that photo album, and through that, and her teacher talking about Minato, she fell in love.

This is a difficult one, because we don't have any confirmation yet, but from her words, I do believe he left her with most of his songs. The only one she stole was the one he left for Minato and her mom. But this is just speculation, because I don't think she would steal his songs, I feel like he either legally passed them to Maya, or at least told her he would be okay with her using it.

Yes, but I can’t think of any area of creative practice where a mentor even saying, “Feel free to use my creations any way you want” would actually entail, “Sell these claiming that you alone created them.” In fact, the more generous the mentor the more likely the younger artist would feel motivated to give them credit. Real artists, I mean, not plagiarists with no sense of ethics.

I agree, sure I don't think that option is true, but it is a possibility in fiction. Asami is a bad person no question there, I personally just think her badness is outclassed by everyone else in this story other than Minato, the only descent person.

Fujishiro during most of this chapter: "Who this bitch think she touchin mah girl!?"

Talking about a possible love triangle, I actually get mad gay vibes from Izumi, she really seems to have feelings for Fujishiro, so if we do get a triangle, I feel like she might be one of the tips. But if Ito likes Kurokawa, then sure we just go it, hope it's well written and enjoy the ride.

@Vankomycin, last I saw, after the Kanna arc, we had some great family moments between Kobayashi, Tohru and their daughters. With a chapter for Tohru and Iruru doing some mom/daughter bonding while buying clothes, and another with Tohru learning to be a better mom by actually listening about what Kanna and Iruru like to eat, instead of just making what Kobayashi likes.

Oh my god... I just realised, is Seri their daughter? Like did they unofficially adopt her? Cause that's some worried/proud parents vibe they gave me this chapter.

^Iruru's design actually changes a bit after a while, while her proportions are stil "cool-sensei style" she looks more like a teenager currently, which works, as her role in the family is the teenage daughter.
