Was there not a character sheet page for the princess knight?

Also, I know I said I'd stop pointing out the ludicrous bits, but the brave's tits are completely out there, right? Even if she were trying she couldnt keep her nipples in the shirt at that point ><;

Wait... the Witch's bust size is only 3 cm. more than the Brave? How... I mean... what... Alright, you win Maou to Yuri. I will stop attempting to find logical consistency here and just mindlessly ogle for the duration of the ride.

I'm not sure what I'm having a harder time accepting about the Princess Knight - that she's 12 with that body, or that she wears her armor 24/7, including that terribly inconvenient-looking neck (?) guard.

Although it's pretty obviously set up with the maid as the only viable/inevitable choice (especially once her mysterious background is revealed to be that she has noble blood, since these stories in manga are always obsessed with lineage), in reality the obvious choice is the Princess Knight. She's the only one that actually helps the kingdom, politically, especially since the human royal family is on board with it. (Depending on how much power she actually has the witch could be a viable dark-horse candidate.)

Obviously that's overthinking things, though, since the story doesn't even bother to give any character a name. The fact that they are only roles/classes and not actual characters is the obvious tell that this is purely an exercise in shipbaiting. It was painfully obvious the Japanese fandom would go for the maid character, just like it was obvious that the gift choices were manipulated to get what the author wanted - the handy-dandy wildcard that the switch offers (Body swaps! Love spell! Hijinks!)

All that said, the parties for the village quest are obvious:

Fighters: Demon King, Brave, Priestess, Witch/Princess Knight
Healers: Villager, Maid, Witch/Princess Knight

PS: "Demon King" should probably be localized differently. Queen? Ruler? Overlord? "King" is not the right word to use since, you know, she's a lady.

Title is misspelled: "invention"

Having the "yuri" and "not yuri" tags on the same work seems like matter and antimatter colliding... or maybe like running a humidifier and dehumidifier at the same time?

I'm guessing that the translation is off calling Sayu their "best customer." I'm thinking she's instead their best SW/"cast member"/whatever? It wouldn't make any sense for a single person to spend enough money to keep a 2-storefront 60 person brothel running, nor for such a person to be brought into the back offices regularly for any reason, nor for them to be making any requests of the staffer who photoshops pics...

IMO the most distracting thing about this premise is that she traveled to the past and decides to work part-time at a coffee shop for money. Girl, you even have a working smartphone (somehow), Google some sports results or something, and kick back.

Wow it finally happened, and at the moment I least expected it. But it totally makes sense as catharsis for both of them.

They had some "sexy" moments before but they were all framed as power struggles or in connection with Maria's dhampir needs (i.e. much bloodier). This was the first time they had a more equal, more romantic romp (and, of course, sex).

On the downside I think Wataru's injury is definitely affecting his art. :/ I am definitely glad he can still continue this story for his readers but the drawings are looser and less detailed than ever. Hope he continues to recover (and saves something for a big concluding Dorothy x Maria sex scene!)

Maybe thinking too deeply about this but...

Vampires require human blood to survive. Therefore:

  1. How did the vampires exist in the mythical demihuman-land-without-humans?

  2. If the True Bloods get their way and the power structure that maintains balance is broken, either the vampires will overrun the human population, run out of food, and starve to death, or the human population, freed from the church's interference, will finally exterminate the vampire population. That's not likely given what we've seen of the Pure/True Bloods' power, but either way it doesn't seem like a fabulous outcome for "all vampires."

Translation note: When you have people talking to the pope, use "your Holiness," as you have. When they are talking about him to someone else, it should be "his Holiness".

Definitely interested in seeing where it goes from here. But unlike others I don't want to see Maria and Dorothy split up, because then it seems unlikely we would be getting any more yuri content for a long time.

Fuwafu: Thanks for taking the time to share your perspective. I understand a bit better now.

As for the debate/controversy aspects, I think FluffyCow is right and it's best taken to the forum or Discord. Not least because it'll be more easily found than on this random pic's comments.

Can someone explain for ignorant people like me what the difference is between "futanari" and "women with dicks (but not futa)"? I guess I always just thought the former was the Japanese term for the latter.

FWIW the woman on top here definitely has a dick. There's no other conclusion based on the way crotches work.

Why does it seem like the last picture uploaded for every image post group is always this pair? Is that deliberate? ><

Sequel when?

This is just porn, and there's room for that in your diet too. XD It follows porn logic. No sense overthinking it.

  1. Given the series so far, I really didn't expect that the first NSFW content here would be horror/gore related, and not sexy nudity related. I guess I'm not shocked but it's still not what I would have predicted (or wanted).

  2. p.16 "who who" --> "one who"

  3. I also agree with the consensus that this feels like it's rushing to a conclusion, unfortunately, perhaps because of the author's ailment. I hope not, I hope he gets the time to tell the full story he wants to.

  4. Also agree with everyone about the poor treatment of Helen and Miranda. It feels super cheap to give them all the buildup and even a backstory of training hard and working to confront their fears with strength and then bam - ded in 2 panels. I also never like the whole impossibly-and-inexplicably-overpowered enemy gimmick but oh well.

  5. Doesn't the timing seem wrong for Noel to be the one who killed Dorothy's mother? (Or was it her nursemaid? I'm not clear there, as I think both are dead from different things? Right?) I guess I'm not clear on how long ago Noel was taken, vs. how long ago Dorothy's mother and/or nursemaid died. It didn't seem that long for Maria's search, and I thought Dorothy's mother died when she was young?

I still enjoy the series and hope it sticks the landing but I can't see the way to the series earning a "happy ending" right now, much less a yuri one. :/

Wait this is a series?! Also isnt 600W kinda excessive? I don’t want boob burns

600W is pretty low power for a microwave. Mine is 1200W and it's just a regular countertop off-the-appliance-store-shelf LG.

My bigger (pun intended) concern is the product range - Japanese F isn't that big. Seems like you'd end up with a lot of unsold product on the lower end as well.

I can't speak for anyone else, but for me, it isn't the slow burn that I find boring, actually I kinda prefer slow burn over rushed romance. It's just for me manga like this tend to be filled with chapters where little to nothing happens until the last few chapters, and I prefer stories with actual plots. It's great if others get something out of it, but it just ain't my cup of tea.

I'm with you on this. "Slow burn" works when there are gradually surmountable obstacles to the romance and you can see the path of progress. As someone else said, this is a story about a straight girl and her lesbian friend. There's nothing to burn slowly here until the author suddenly decides to deus ex machina flip the gay switch on the straight girl.

Aside from that, the story isn't even about what it suggests it will be about. What part of "marriage" are they trying out? This isn't a manga about legal structures; I don't think discussion of their family registers or property rights are going to be chapters. If we're talking about marriage from a spiritual perspective - the binding commitment of people to each other because of love and/or sex - well, they don't have sex, they're not starting a family, and their lives are no more intertwined than roommates. So... what are they "trying" exactly?

And the only reason we have to think about any of that is the story is boring. Ruriko is a doormat that we're supposed to think is noble because she loves Kurumi for who she is and rationalizes gestures that barely qualify for "casual friend" as fulfilling enough for her to be content with the relationship. I hate the opposite trope too, where couples get jealous and stupid if their partner doesn't text them immediately or spend every waking minute with them, but this is not better. Marriage can mean many different things to many different people, but I don't think anyone conceives of marriage as two opposite, financially independent people who live completely separate lives, spend very little time together, with no physical intimacy, and nothing else tying them together (like kids or family pressure or immigration status).

So yeah, I think this has reached "pass" status for me as well. There's just nothing here to hold on to; it's about a relationship that barely exists and two people who seem to be pretty happy with it that way.

Frankly, the only astounding thing to me at this point is that this runs in Yuri Hime. I mean, it's just straight up porn now.

FYI, this artist has a few other beautiful Aerith x Tifa drawings out there. (Along with other pairings; be aware she's clearly not committed to any one ship). Mostly she really seems to like Tifa - there are some AWESOME solo Tifa drawings as well, especially the martial arts action collages.

On the one hand, this series is giving up a golden opportunity for a long run with Asumi visiting a colorful, varied, and numerous succession of different companions (a la Yurikanpu). But it was always obvious that the focus was less on the journey and more on the destination and that Mai was going to be found sooner rather than later, so I'm not surprised.

Enjoyable enough for what it was while it lasted.

(Unless that reservation is a huge fakeout and it's a different Asumi or a spy organization recruiting Mai or the Dansetsu no Kabe and we take a wild turn ><;)

This is literally the first time I can't see the gay or feel it, and I love yuri like it's part of me. But... Hm... Maybe it's just me.

I think this is a clear generational thing, because if you (like me) were around for the original game, and you were into lesbian/yuri content, this was a foundational ship. There were plenty of doujin featuring them at the time; they were maybe even the first video game women to get a lesbian ship (there may have been two or three Terra x Celes FFVI books but it was really rare). Yes, largely because they were the two main female characters in an enormously popular game, but damnit, we took what we could get AND WE LIKED IT! Uphill! Both ways! In the snow!

Anyway, I see a lot of replies on Tifa X Aerith lately to this effect and I'm always a little confused because, frankly, fans will ship anyone with everyone now with the slightest (or even no) justification. ><; All that matters is basically, "would this be hot to me?" Not sure why this pairing always brings out the critics.

I never quite understand complaints about “lack of progress” in series where the couple starts out together.

Sure, I get the desire to see more physical intimacy between characters, but in episodic stories about high school kids there’s a lot more comedic material to be generated keeping things fairly chaste than in ramping up the skinship or, as in this case, normalizing their public relationship.

“They’re dating but it’s a secret” is the whole founding premise—when that goes away, it’s likely that the whole series goes away (which may be where the presence of Abe-chin is pointing anyway).

Progress is essential to storytelling. There are more ways for a story to progress than "Girl meets girl. They become a couple. The end."

Personally, I find the "dating but it's a secret" framing device tiresome. We've never seen any evidence that any of their friends or family would react poorly to the idea of them dating. Their extreme caution to avoid even stuff that non-coupled female friends would do with each other seems at odds with how generally pleasant their world is. We get it, they're young and nervous but that is the area where they should be growing.

This is never going to be a story that deals with the reality of being gay in Japan - it's much more fantasy along the lines of the Kase-san series. So in that vein it would be nice to see them make strides in being comfortable with who they are and be able to enjoy each other's company more openly. Stories about lesbian couples don't have to only be about how they got together - straight couples certainly aren't limited to that. They can be a couple and deal with life around that and still have funny, relatable stories to participate in.

I actually really like this manga for the characters and the art style. I just wish the author would realize that they've outgrown the framing device and it's time to do more with the characters.

I also loved the art style, and all of the lived-in details of Kyougoku-san's family. "Found family" stories can be really inspiring.

Is there a good way to support the author? Especially since they've been so kind as to interact with us about their story. Can we buy this as a doujin or something?

Oh, and I can't help but wonder about Kyougoku-san's father. Since she has such a big family, their mother was obviously together (and intimate) with her dad for a long time. And since the family is so close and joyful, it stands to reason that the house has always been filled with love. It's sad to think that he died young, but it's sadder to think that he abandoned them. At least in my opinion.

I love the details here - the modern clothes that suggest their game outfits. The little bit of midriff that gives away how buff Tifa is... really A+ work.

Come to think of it, this is probably my first ever ship. Maybe Terra and Celes but my memory is fuzzy at this point on which game I actually played first.
