Momo needs to find a friend who isn't an emotionally constipated asshole.

The art is so good, but there is still the unlikely possibility that Nika won't win, even if it's small, there is still a chance, and I don't know how I'd feel if that happens. How can all of them be happy?

I mean the big sister is already perfectly happy with how things are she doesn't lose anything if Koiko gets with her sister except stalking she doesn't seem to be aware of.

Oof the feels

I really appreciate the author giving us glimpses into their lovey-dovey future to soften the blows

Yeah, this is a nice touch.

I'm so tired of Apirl Fools bullshit. It's just an entire day where I have to deal with people trying and failing to be clever.

I appreciate that Tei's response to this oppai-loli wasn't envy but rather utter bafflement at this extremely Japanese nonsense.

Meh. Maybe this will become something decent but mostly both of these characters are just kind of gross to me right now.

My memory is so shitty that a lot of the baggage of immortality doesn't really make sense to me personally. I can barely remember what happened 5 years ago never mind 500.

I can understand both sides of the argument. I can see how some people think poly is just a way to resolve love triangles or tends to be poorly written. But I also understand the viewpoint of people who are just happy to get polyamory representation.

Me personally, I'm on the poly side of things. Is it a cheap way to resolve love triangles? Probably. Do I personally care? No, not really. I'm a simple person, I just like to see all the characters involved be happy. And if that can be resolved with polyamory then so be it. And sometimes even when you admit something is a cliche or bad writing, you just don't care because you're satisfied with you get regardless. Also, I personally don't think there's enough polyamory stories on here to really start getting annoyed with them.`

My PoV is that conventional love Triangle resolutions are cheap, you just a Will they wont they artificially more tense and when it has run its course we are left with a character that is just leftovers.
"An easy guide to love triangles" is ironically one of the only dramatic love triangles i have seen that would have Been good with a standard resolution, because it represented each side extreemly well.

Yeah, love triangles are by and large just a lazy excuse to manufacture some drama and stretch out the run time of a series with fake indecision when most of the time it's obvious who the winner will be from the start.

AvyJae posted:

Poly haters can eat shit, polyamorous folks deserve to be represented, too.

You could word this in a far less inflammatory way. It's understandable some people don't care for it having a sudden polyamory development. There was no indication until now that this was the way it would turn out. If there had been then plenty of people, such as myself, wouldn't have bothered reading it because we don't enjoy polyamory at all.

Comments that boil down to "Ew I hate the way other people love" get pretty exhausting and the hypocrisy of it in a community largely dedicated to manga about queer people is also pretty grating. It's annoying when people feel the need to shit all over your identity in the extremely sparse instances where you get any representation of it.

Half the time there's a twist where, "The rule doesn't apply if it's between two girls," and I am just assuming that's going to happen here too.

The way this manga has gone so far, I'm almost expecting it to be like "if you enter a relationship you won't have as much time/energy for fighting monsters and we'd rather just replace you than deal with the headache." But with low recruitment, and between two girls already on a team, maybe they'd just sweep it under the rug.

This would be a pretty funny subversion of that trope.

Hell yeah. I'm fine with the foreshadowing here being about as subtle a hammer to the face there are 8000 monogamous romcoms where whether or not the leads will get together is never actually a serious question and I've never found them boring because I knew where the story would eventually end up. I enjoy them taking the trope of the Experienced Gays providing the MC with an epiphany and adapting it for polyamory I think that's a neat idea.

The comedy tag is for the unintentional comedy that comes from how overwrought the dramatic scenes in this manga are.

Not sure why everyone is hating on this. There's room for lots of stories in queer media and allowing for ridiculous situations such as this is a part of it.

Not being down on anyone for their reactions—they are what they are—but, yeah, some stories are obviously intended to reflect social reality to some degree, and others, like this one, are like patchwork trope machines, where the author assembles mismatched sets of pre-fab narrative components and sets them running to see what crazy things will happen. (That “Lots of Tsundere Twintails” story—which seems to be gone from Dynasty—would be one example of the latter.)

(I used to do something similar with chemistry sets when I was a kid—I’d perform the first couple of experiments like the instructions said, then start mixing things together to see if anything would explode.)

I'd cut this a lot more slack if it was a better example of what it is. Like there's a version of this concept that wouldn't just kind of annoy me and it's probably a version that isn't so eager to get to the smut it throws pacing to the wayside while simultaneously censoring all the smut.

The censorship just makes me respect this even less. Like I'm pretty contemptuous of whatever attitude decided that the subject matter was perfectly acceptable but boobs are a bridge too far. It's fetish porn that doesn't even have enough self respect to be porn.

I don't know, I do think Subaru is right that it kind of sucks ass for Asahi to use making sacrifices for her as an excuse to just not care about herself at all and make no effort towards her own happiness and dump the burden of feeling responsible for that onto a kid. Everything Asahi does revolves around Subaru and she's staked her entire identity on that and it must be a source of pretty major guilt that she's the reason her sister refuses to have anything for herself.

Sure, but the way she specifically used college as a way to make this point is incredibly dumb and childish. I'd hardly call it some unusual sacrifice for her to want her younger sister to go to college, that's normal.

It's not actually about college, paying for college is just the only sacrifice she can actually stop Asahi from making to make her point. I wouldn't be at all surprised if she rescinded her refusal as soon as Asahi started making herself a priority.

I think the fact that it's college is important, and part of why this is the last straw for her. Subaru's graduation from high school is the first real chance she has to free Asahi from looking after her, and thus free herself from her guilt for dominating her sister's life. Going to university full time is committing to spending four more years as a dependent. And I think letting Asahi support her while she goes to college would really intensify her guilt, because then she'd be enjoying a privilege that Asahi herself had to give up.

That's a good point, I can definitely see that being the case.
