Ahh the Itou Hachi storytelling that I like. Cuteness mixed with some drama and sometimes some shocking visuals. If I block out the loliness of it all, the narrative is often really good. I love the harshness of the cut to Eve's scrapped body and the horror build up to it (from shots of the scrapyard to the beckoning whispers then finally the reveal).

b-bruhhh, why'd she make her a kid?????? I get the author has a thing for that.... stuff, but it doesn't make any sense story wise.

Story-wise I think it fits more for the personality of Eve (childish, accident-prone, a remnant of more innocent times).

This is super nice. Love the storytelling beats as well with the whole weaponising her tears and the takes on maturity. Very cute.

I enjoy Itou Hachi's works since the fantasy setting makes it a bit easier to focus on the fiction but the fact that this work is... too realistic really puts me on edge. It's kind of like when artists write/draw horrid scenes in fiction it's cool and artsy but when they get very realistic and too detailed it becomes concerning.

Aside from that, I guess it's a nice exploration of that step in a woman's life. Don't think my friends and I ever had this much of a fuss about your first bra but maybe it's a cultural difference?

Art is nice. I'm a fan of some good ol' age gap in fiction but this is definitely not good irl no matter what hoops you try to jump through. Just gotta remember that with every story of a good irl age gap couple, there's ten abusive ones (coming from someone who dated someone twice my age when I was 16 and saw nothing wrong with it back then).

The art is really nice but yes I agree with the others that the story is a bit confusing. Don't think it's a translation thing, confusion seems to stem from the actual story itself. Still, pretty good.

Oh jeez, a soul-crushing job. She shoulda taken it and toughen up just like everyone else.

A job interview shouldn't just be about the candidate, but also about the candidate checking out if the job is actually the right fit for them. If it's not because the people are a bunch of red flags, aren't they toughening up by actually having the guts to say no?

Also imo it wouldve been very short sighted to take that job. It would've drained your sanity and ended up in poor job performance or a resignation - which wouldn't look good on your cv. A clear mark of why just working hard doesn't cut it, you have to work smart even if it means rejecting a job offer. Otherwise you're not really going to get far in the career ladder.

Very realistic story. Instead of buying another pair of shoes, they both decided to just wear the mismatched pairs -_-'

Very old comment but this feels actually realistic to me. Why buy a new pair when you can try to get the mistake fixed? Nice shoes are expensive esp if you're already paying for dentist appointments.

It's always a gamble when I open up a Kodama work. This one is pretty okay at least.

I'm thinking Jurina is the one who loves Reina because of the comment on how eager she was, but Reina's face in the second to last page threw me for a loop.

I feel like I should like this, but for some reason I just can’t bring myself to. I’m no prude; the humor should be in my wheelhouse. But I just don’t find this shit funny.

Maybe it’s cuz the mom is so goddamn annoying. She just screams “Rape! My daughter is scary and gonna rape me!” over and over and over again. It’s literally the only “punchline” and it’s repeated ad nauseam. And it also just feels so mean spirited towards the daughter. Sure, it would be surprising to discover that a family member of yours had a fetish for incest porn that mirrors their relationship with you. But screaming and treating them like a rapist when they haven’t even done anything is not the right way to handle it, especially if they’re young and still probably working their way through their sexuality.

I know I’m probably taking this too seriously and this is supposed to be played for laughs. But because I can’t see it as a comedy since I just don’t find it funny, I guess I can’t help looking at it a bit more seriously, which really makes it an annoying read.

Idk, just an alternate opinion on this. I’ve been seeing so much overwhelming praise for this that I was starting to wonder if I was the only one who didn’t find it that funny and absolutely fucking hated the mom lol

It's not that deep.

I heavily disagree with Yae and maybe Takemiya Jin herself assuming that is her perspective. Cosplay isn't appropriate normally because it is too flamboyant or too suggestive for normal attire in a school setting. Her outfit is neither. Wearing a long skirt and otherwise normal outfit is not remotely equivalent, and it sure as hell isn't "asking" to be raped, which is what seems to be implied here.

Beyond just the victim-blaming mentality of this perspective, it just seems backwards. It's like saying that somebody wearing a tuxedo suit to school is asking to be raped or is in violation of school code.

It doesn't even make sense.

The only consequence of wearing this outfit should be that you stand out and are maybe shunned by a minority of idiots because you aren't following fashion trends, which is probably to your benefit because you didn't want to be friends with those people anyway.

I think it's more on meeting social norms by changing something that isn't very critical to who you are as a person. Sakura is only imitating Yae and wearing that outfit isn't really something that significant to her identity (considering how quickly she was ready to change things up) so what's the point of putting herself in danger for that?

There are valid arguments about victim blaming but it's also important to understand Yae's point about how you present yourself to the world having an impact on how people perceive you: if you dress like a crazy person, people will think you're a crazy person and likely treat you as such. There is also some responsibility on your part that you still need to consider.

I wish there was like a subtle visual indicator for which panels are from the story and which are from reality. Like keep everything else but maybe a very slight tone shift to the borders or something so that it's clearer upon a second look.

oh man, I miss this manga.

What do you mean you miss it? This manga is in the same spot it's always been. Do you walk past things in your house and think "I miss them"? :P

Didn't expect to get hit by something philosophical today xD

I... am so confused how the comments here count as biphobia? It literally just struck me as people getting grossed out bec she didnt wash between sexual partners??? Which is completely fair esp if one sexual partner could die from it???

Well, whatever. Great art. Always love the trope of the succubus getting topped.

Well, at least media like this is sparking more conversations about it.
