Jellyfish's last episode was rough on my heart.
And in the preview we see Kano being depressed, which means this episode is looking like it'll be rough too.
It also looks like it'll be a Mei episode, which doesn't help since she's by far my least favorite character. Her whole "Kano-tan is my oshi!" act was kinda funny at first but it's been getting old.

Don't know why it took this long for me to realize that this is essentially a more hilarious version of the "The Fed up Office Lady Wants to Serve the Villainess.

You know what makes this funnier, right?

It's gyaru. Gyaru makes everything better.

And yes, as much as I enjoy Fed Up Office Lady Serves the Villainess, this manga has already surpassed it in my opinion. The manga is jam-packed with super adorable panels of Serina showing her genki airheaded gyaru-ness. Just this chapter has page 1, page 4, page 9, page 11, page 24, page 25, page 26.

Some may ask "is this too much gyaru?". And those people are fools!

Momoka may feel like she needs to have a shouting match with Nina every episode, but love and headpats is the better way to raise her gremlin.

yeah there´s been several animes with delays, quality issues, etc heck even the 2nd season of jujutsu kaisen had a lot of problems, but in all of my years watching anime i´ve never seen an adaptation crash and burn so bad, really sad that happened to sasakoi, considering how well the maho ako anime did despite the limited resources it had

Maho Ako was on my mind with this situation as well. Putting aside Maho Ako's low budget, differences between manga and anime, and so fourth, I saw people having fun with the anime adaption. I also saw people getting into the manga because they enjoyed the anime. So I'd consider that a success for the series overall. I haven't really seen much of that with Whispering's adaption, and it's unfortunate.

Yeah it's the goal to have people getting into the source material because of a good adaptation, but sometimes people will check the source material if an adaptation is downright awful.

Whispering You a Love Song has a bad adaptation but I've seen worse...even this season. Unnamed Memory is stuffing 3 LNs worth of content into 12 episodes. Absolute madness.
It's clear as day to everyone watching that the anime is just shitting the bed with adapting the story. But source material readers fill the discussion threads with "check out the LNs!" and I've been seeing a number of comments in the lightnovels subreddit saying they got into the LN because of the anime.
And it's very good story...for a het romance. Good enough to make people abandon the shit-show anime and switch over to the LN.

Unfortunately for Whispering You a Love Song, it's just a "normal" bad adaption and not truly awful. There's plenty of watchers that claim to not see issues with the anime.
So there's probably not too many new readers as a result. I recently reread the manga on Mangadex and there were almost zero recent comments for earlier chapters from new readers. Seems most new watchers won't be checking out the manga until after the anime finishes airing.

Shizuku was about to drop out of High School, which she stayed in only because she got money as long as she was in education, when Saori convinced her to come back. Maybe she repeated a year or two? She was a runaway for some time too (and lived with Miki).

They should be around the same age. Maybe Shizuku is a tad younger.

My first thought is the author forgot she made Minami that young, but I think that's unlikely since that was a major point in the first couple of chapters.

Maybe around a year has passed since the first chapter and Minami's 19 now and Shizuku's 17? That's probably the minimum age gap for it to make sense how Iori is giving Minami shit over this.

For Sena And Mashiro, I think they from same Orphanage (Mashiro got thrown away by her parents when she was little), so Mashiro viewed Sena as her onee-sama probably due to same Orphanage and used to have a crush on (Aiming to be clinical psychologist to support Sena dream of building a child-caring facility/etc.- MC's onee-chan aiming to be Sena's support).

Thanks for the reminder. I only remembered they weren't biologically related because there wasn't an incest freakout in the comments about Mashiro having a crush on Sena.

I don't think they ever dated. Mashiro had a crush on Sena though. She either confessed and was rejected or never said anything and was heartbroken when Sena started dating Makino's big sister. Can't recall which one.

And to address your mild concern about people mislabeling Komaki's feelings as love: I'm using the term "love" for clarity's sake, not because I think what she feels is "love".
I agree with RAO that what Komaki feels is much closer to "obsession" than "love". But there is also still something akin to "love" at the root of her obsession.

Edit: I find yuri with characters who feel strong, obsessive versions of "love" to be compelling. Take for example the character in my avatar who did nothing wrong.

Toxic yuri fans been eating good these past couple days. This manga, Destroy It All and Love Me In Hell, and My Girlfriend's Not Here Today have all released new chapters.

Because Wakaba knows Komaki thinks she's in love with Wakaba, but Wakaba doesn't think Komaki's love is real love. She asked that question so she could denounce those toxic feelings out loud. I thought it was pretty straightforward tbh? Like, Wakaba knows what Komaki wants, but thinks that the form of relationship she wants would be bad and unpleasant and self destructive. And she's probably right. Wakaba wants fluffy romance between equals, not toxic yuri. That's why she wants to pull Komaki down from above her so much.

While you may find things straightforward, I find this manga sometimes difficult to follow...in an "obviously adapted from a WN/LN" type of way.

Komaki walks away from Wakaba in the stairway, then we transition to a flashback of Komaki explaining to Wakaba about why she went after that senpai.
And then we have Wakaba's thoughts on Komaki(not clear if those are current thoughts or thoughts she had at the time of flashback).
And then we immediately transition to the tennis scene, making it clear that she was distracted by those thoughts in the present.
I had to read that section multiple times to figure out what was happening.

And I disagree that " Wakaba knows Komaki thinks she's in love with Wakaba, but Wakaba doesn't think Komaki's love is real love".
