The easy way to tell is with Natsuki's last name. In Mai-Hime, it's Kuga. In Otome, it's Kruger.

Well, caught on with the latest chapters. Nice. It is somewhat strange to see Yuma, whose extreme denseness was so annoying in earlier chapters, to be this straightforward, and aware of things. Strange, but very nice. Although, why on earth is she doing it is beyond me. I mean, sure, she is in love, it is also obvious Hotaru reciprocates, but feelings are not everything. When someone puts another person though as much crap as Hotaru did here, they usually split, despite the feelings. I have no problem with people who accept the horrible traits of their partners, but that is not how Yuma was portrayed here. She felt genuinely betrayed and hurt, but now she is going forward as if nothing happened.

My money is on Hotaru rejecting her. Something about that unease on her face, eyes to the side, plus what Klice said about Hotaru's fear of emotional attachment, and the fact it is Kodama. We shall see, we shall see.

"Surely, there's nothing wrong with one person loving another." And that entire look of 'I accept the situation and support you'. He turned out to be a genuinely nice guy. He had some ups and downs, but he more than made up for it by supporting Yuma when she needed it the most. Lol, I still remember when people painted him as nothing but a horny adolescent who just wants to get into her pants.

^The one on the right is Yamato, the battleship of battleships. The one on the left is Yahagi, a light cruiser. There is a shared history between them, both sailed together in the Operation Sho-Go, which resulted in one of the largest naval battles in history, but more importantly, they were the only two larger ships in the Operation Ten-Go, the rest being mere destroyers. Ten-Go was basically a suicide mission, and quite pointless in practical terms, since there was no chance whatsoever of even dealing any damage to the enemy. It was basically enacted to provide the Imperial Navy a decent death, rather than anything else, and both the Yamato and the Yahagi were sunk by US planes during it.

Featured series, nice. This is one of my all-time favourites.
Wish the ending was slightly better, though, the senpai got a decent and heartfelt closure, the annoying guy was rejected, only for both of these characters resurrecting their advances on main protagonists in a classically silly manga way. Could have done without that, especially since it kind of ruined the senpai's rejection, which was really nicely done, one of my favourite scenes in this manga.

What the hell, Kuro is such a bitch! Talk about blindsiding me here, chapter! Weird thing is, I find her to be absolutely awesome now~

By "annoying piece of trash" I assume you mean Chibi-Usa (since I have seen many people back in the day disliking her like that, and I can not recall ever seeing Hotaru being described as even remotely annoying). If that is the case, you mixed them up, Chibi-Usa is Black Lady (the one with the upside-down crescent, R season), while Hotaru is Mistress 9 (the black star on her forehead, S season).
