That flashback was what social scientists call "an oof". But now we know where Nan's self-image issues come from, and the neglectful+abusive parent with a string of failed relationships theory turned out be true.

Also, the fact that it was followed up by super-deformed gift-buying hijinx gave me a bit of a whiplash.

“from the master of NTR Yuri” what a title to own haha

You cannot blame Kodama Naoko for not owning her brand. :-)

Oh, so that hooded lady wasn’t Elsa!

It was her mom.

So you think Elsa is Olivia's daughter? That would explain her demonic traits, but why would Olivia even have a child? She has shown zero interest in anything except magic and her teacher's legacy so far.

What I like with Nanatsu Fuji is that they never resort to toys or het porn tropes with the sex scenes.

The sex scenes feel natural. They do things that a lot of lesbians do when they have sex (cuni, fingers, tribbing, etc...) and it doesn't feel like they do it for the gaze of the reader, but because they have feelings for each other.

I'm not sure I'm clear here...

No, I think you are perfectly clear. There is a continuum of sex depiction that spans from the naturalistic (a documentary) to the pornographic (a show staged for an audience), and Nanatsu Fuji hits the sweet spot between naturalism and fantasy where their sex scenes feel authentic to reality while still serving the story they want to tell.

I think this new girl is just blunt or sharp with words but is actually harmless.

My impression of Sei was the opposite: that she is deliberately destroying Hina's self-confidence in order to make her entirely dependent on her approval. But maybe I am being too harsh on her and she's just blunt without an ulterior motive, but even so, her interactions with Hina do visibly harm the latter's self-esteem, so I wouldn't call her "harmless" overall.

That last panel did a really good job of making her smile seem forced and nervous. It's subtle but impressive detail on the part of the artist.

It's the eyes, I think. If you cover up the lower half of her face with a thumb, her facial expression is clearly that of fear or at least anxiety. But if you cover up the upper half, then it's clearly a self-assured grin of a winner. Hence this is an expression of someone who only smiles with her lips, but not her eyes.

It's been over a year now, and Tsukushi's cluelessness still hurts so good. Hinoka is has been throwing herself at her for months, and she still doesn't get a single clue. XD

A bridge chapter, structurally necessary to link the initial impressions arc with the relationship development arc.

didn’t the author of Sunstone continue the story with the Friends of the Sunstone MCs?? and that story is Het.

Mercy has two storylines running in parallel: one about Ally and Alan, which is indeed het, and one about Anne and Laura, which is not.

The plot thickens. Does that one-panel flashback imply that Nan has had a messy break-up/divorce and a kid who went to live with her father?

No, I wouldn't say so. The woman shown is older, with darker brown hair and the child has Nan's hair color. Still an important memory for her though, considering when she remembers it.

I have chucked it up to lighting, but assuming this is true, another theory is that the girl in that flashback is Nan, and the adults are her neglectful parents or a neglectful parent with a new paramour. Maybe even an abusive parent figure, judging by the band-aids on the girl's arm and leg?

I'd like to point out that in the past few chapters, Makino has communicated clearly with Mashiro, validate her feelings, recognized her prior screw-up, and proactively attempted to fix it. Even if she went about it in her usual scummy way and it didn't work out how she expected all, the fact that she tried and that it worked out in the end showed to Mashiro that Makino is ready, willing, and able to fight for their relationship, paving the way for their mutual confession.

@drpepperfan I respect and accept your administrative decision, but I cannot help but be made uneasy by the arbitrariness of it. I have engaged in a good-faith discussion of this thread's main topic, following the site policies to the best of my understanding (even though spoiler-tagging future chapters is not even a codified forum rule, as far as I can tell), only to have it excised from existence. That feels unfair to me, and I would like to avoid situations like this in the future.

Did I understand you correctly that the current policy regarding discussions of chapters that have not been uploaded yet is as follows: "Users may discuss the contents of the chapters not yet available on the Dynasty Reader, unless the series is being uploaded at a good pace and as long as any such discussion is tagged as spoilers"? If so, I respectfully request a clarification on what is considered "a good pace" (e.g. how much time must pass since the last upload here for discussions of newer chapters to be okay?). I firmly believe that making all rules of conduct unambiguous and public will improve the quality of discussion in the long term.

I'm sure we need a tag for these types of triangles, but how calling it? Double Love Triangle? Love Square? Love Polygon?

Love Calabi-Yau Manifold

Ah, I see you are a person of culture, as well. ^__^

Ch 11. Natori: I want you to want me.
Ch 12 Lapis: Okay, I want you.
Natori: what da hell?

N: I didn't mean it like that!
L: too late, your ass is mine!

Best summary of the latest chapter so far. :-)

Is... is the implication that she's actually her mother???

no you're forgetting ch.2, she was a friend of her mother i think

I think the backstory goes something like this: Huo's mom and Xiong were friends; Huo's mom slept with a random funeral parlor owner to get pregnant, despite knowing that (for some reason) she won't live long enough to raise her kid, and asked Xiong to look after her; however, for some reason, Huo never met Xiong as a kid and, after her mom died, was raised by her biological father and his new girlfriend, Rosa, instead; when Huo's dad also died, she went back to the Youqing parlor to set up her own business there; along the way, she stumbled onto a mortally wounded Xiong, bringing her corpse with her to bury; Huo then did something to Xiong's body to reanimate it, so as to have a companion who will not die on her like her parents did; Xiong lost her memories about what happened to her, which just about brings us to where the series starts.

What kind of bed do you expect for an adult human?

One with a single pillow, usually. Since, you know, most adults only have one head. ;-)

I dunno, pretty much every double bed I've ever seen or slept in had two pillows (or more). ┐( ̄ヘ ̄)┌

Which brings us to my original question: how and when did Eve end up with a double bed in her supposedly single-occupant room? :-) I realize that the implication is that either she or Ciel are not-so-subtly preparing for married life with this, but the pace is still rather breakneck and I was wondering whether I have missed something.

They're probably sharing a queen, rather than a double, since the latter would be rather cramped with two people. Though I think the actual question was "How did they end up sharing a bed?" and I think that's still a good question, since they didn't seem that close at the end of the last chapter.

That's why I assumed they are not actually sleeping together, but maybe I was wrong. I was very confused by the transition from page 19 to 20, where Eve appears to be both surprised and embarrassed by the fact that not only is the bed made for two, but Ciel also stores her clothes and perfume in her room, as well. It's almost like this is the first time she realizes that they were setting her room up for two people all along.

So, how did she end up with a double bed? Was Ciel that straightforward in her advances, or did Eve "rearrange" some furniture without paying conscious attention?

I've gotta say, I've really enjoyed Miho's development from a thorn in Satsuki's side to one of her firmest friends

I wouldn't say she is Satsuki's friend, as she is still way too egotistical to have true friendships (counter-example: Akira), but I agree that she has been slowly developing a certain fondness for Satsuki that goes beyond the simple "I stick with you so you can keep me alive" arrangement they started out with. Miho is also important as a thematic counter-argument to Seo, showing that a former bully can reform her ways, despite unfavorable circumstances. She is not a good person yet, but not a shitty person anymore, either.

Chapter 6 was weird and disjointed. Then there's the time difference of the travel time to reach New York from ... idk if it was ever said where in China they are usually but still, it's a long time, and the outfit didn't change from talking about not seeing it to seeing it, and the run time is 2.5 hours, which is most definitely not long enough for any plane to reach.

This has actually bothered me a lot, too. It's shown on Nan Zhi's ticket that she flew from PEK (Beijing Capital International Airport) to JFK (in NYC), which Google tells me takes ca. 15 without accounting for the drive to the airport, standing in line at security and customs, and potential delays. The whole timing situation is a mess, so I have no choice but to assume Qin Mi's family is so rich, they own a private suborbital jets, which makes the 15h trip in a fraction of the usual time.

Satsuki is pretty close to a mental breakdown. The question is, will it break her for good or will it finally induce a reevaluation of her beliefs?
