Having just re-read this, the pace strikes me as not slow at all - the side character stories took up about a volume, but the main story pretty much goes from one thing to another. It just seems slow because we're reading it as it comes out.

yeah! i recently re-read the whole story and it was a lot less slow and painful as I remember it being! it also cleared up a lot for me as well so i definitely recommend that people re-read this work. like, it's still a shit show in terms of unanswered questions, but after a quick re-read, it all makes a bit more sense. to me at least

anybody else have that "holy shit this is actually happening, its over ;-;" moment, like 3 pages in XD bc im actually crying over here.

so just a theory, but maybe reichi felt bad about what his mom did to kaoru's mom so he felt he needed to take responsibility for that by being with and eventually marrying kaoru? OR R and U's mom forced him to.. we've seen how manipulative and forceful she is, saying Uta will always be her "parents property", Uta saying she "always has to be right" and also how she is able to completely shut riechi out of the argument when he trys to defend Uta in chapter 17.. she was probably like "yo i killed the girls mother so do me a solid and marry her to compensate for my wrong doings" but it was probably more like "REICHI YOU ARE GONNA DO WHATEVER MAKES THIS GIRL HAPPY AND YOU ARE GONNA LIKE IT!! so riechi being the wet seaweed that he is gave into his mothers iron fist.

OR PLOT TWIST!! they had to do it for legal reasons. from our current understanding, R and U's mom did something that cost K's mom her life. so she lost her license to practice medicine in japan. but according to the law she KILLED SOMEONE DUE TO MALPRACTICE, hence breaking the code of ethics. that's a pretty big offense that should result in jail time. so reichi and kaoru got married so thier mothers were not just friends but in-laws. which is why R and U's mom didn't go yo jail. this, however, doesn't match up with the timeline of the story. the incident happened 5 years ago, but R and K got married a year ago. BUT from what we can infer, the ceremony of their marriage was held a year ago, not the actual legal act of marriage between the two. its a bit of a stretch but honestly this story has been all over the place since page 1 sooo its fair game lol

and my prediction for how the story will end? well uta has suffered enough and deserves to be happy, and koaru is insecure in her current mariage.. so uta will go off the live the life she wanted b4 her mom interviend: go to college get a job and move out. and kaoru will break up of riechi who is obviously cheating on her, and she will pursue uta the person she loved all along :) and Raichi can be with risako I guess -_-

hhhhhhhh theres no way it will end so neatly tho :*) but a guy can dream lol

and as for this series, seems ok. im just peeved by their entire interaction XD like, i was that quiet kid that used to just sit alone and draw and be content doing so, but when people were really loud and pushy asking questions ESPECIALLY "hey, what are you drawing?" I would just sit there and scream internally thinking of ways to get out of the situation XD it was bothersome but looking back on it now, I wish I would have been less scared.. could have made some good friends maybe lol..

but anyway, lets see where this goes! im interested to see how the shy girl evolves and how the loud girl pushes her buttons
