damn some people are really ungrateful! some guy went out if his way to translate a dropped manga and all some people can do is complain! If you want a better TL do one yourself .imo I liked the translation, although it was a bit weird in some places. it was something different from all the robotic and stiff TLs some people do.

Yes, imagine some of us wanting to read this work as closely as to what Morinaga actually wrote. Outrages idea, I know. In all seriousness, what Purple Library Guy said is true, there has to be some limit. Driven home all the more by the fact Dynasty usually does not upload stuff like this, which is also the reason why this example is so conspicuous.

The typos and the weird, clumsy sentence construction are not even that big of a deal, it is the translator's choice to expand the written text with their own stuff and references, and to sprinkle it with a dose of cussing, because they like cussing. How anyone could defend this is, quite frankly, beyond me. And that is the thing, I have yet to see anyone defending the translation, instead people are harping on about "dead series be grateful blabla".

There are a lot of people who do not know the intricacies of how scanlation works, a lot of readers who do not frequent the Forum, they will read this thing, and assume Morinaga decided it was high time she got a little bit vulgar. And that she is a "Back to the Future" fan as well, as Mayjaplaya demonstrated above.

Edit: Also, since page 7 of this thread, 90% of discussion is about the translation and not the story itself. That should tell you something.

^ Yeah, with that look on her face and the leg wrap, the bottom one leaves a far more dominant impression, in my opinion. The image has me thinking she is the one leading and holding the top girl in position.

Ornamental headbands are not uncommon in manga, I too do not think it is a maid's headband. Besides, the blonde girl is also wearing a frilly cuff on her wrist, that is a maid thing. So is that frilly what-you-call-it, on her thigh. Compare with these examples.

The contrast between the chapters is too much for me. This does not read like Morinaga, I actually cringed at the cuss words. Mind you, cussing in and of itself is something I am completely fine with, it is a matter of the tone I am used to in Morinaga's works. I do not remember much cussing, if any at all, in "Mare", of all things, let alone her other works. And that is on top of some heavy localisations that contributed more to this feeling jarring rather than conveying anything meaningful about the characters.

Obscene words. Well, sorry, but i don't have any problems with them, actually i really love them. These are the language's instruments to express strong emotions and i see no reasons not to use them, especially when it's already 18+.

Nope, rest in peace, I do not think I will be following this translation. Not my cup of tea.

To add a bit more input, I tested the examples above. Instant loading on everything except "KOISATO", where there was a slight delay of a few seconds the first time I went through the pages (but instant loading the second time I went through it). "1 x ½" loads fine as well. Could this be a regional thing? I am in Europe. I myself have had periods when things loaded slowly, sometimes significantly so (though nothing as drastic as what themusicman is experiencing with "1 x ½"), but I have not come across it for some months now.

Though, it would have been slightly better if Uranus was drawn with her choker as well, two darkly-coloured Senshi with chokers double-teaming poor Usagi in the middle would have been pure perfection... no idea why that detail stands out so much for me, lol.

Actually, it's possible if the mother had also a submissive gen type O. Since type A and B are dominant it can be in a combination of AO and BO (=Heterozygous, Complete dominance). And if the father has on both genes submissive gen O then there is a 50% chance the kid would be either type A or type O (Using Punnett square to decide that)

The mother in this case definitely has AO, since that is the only way for her to be A, and to have an O daughter. Father could be OO (in which case, as you said, 50% chance Asuka will be O), but he could also be AO himself, or even BO (25% chance Asuka will be O), one thing the father definitely is not, is AB.

Anyway, this was really adorable, lol, for some reason it managed to convey how young Ayako was when she had Asuka.
Also, Ayako's weakness are snakes. Asuka has slit pupils. CONNECTION??!

If we look at her entire work, Tan Jiu has quickly gone through every dramatic development aside from the basketball game, so to end Mo's arc as she did and now getting these vignettes isn't exactly out of the ordinary -- the sweet potato chapter and now this appear to be continuations directly after Mo stopped Sun Jing.

Except, she did not end the fangirl's arc. Not yet, the last scene is missing. It is not in the style of this story to have the fangirl confess (and even that was not actually shown), provide a short backstory on how she developed feelings for SJ, then just drop it there, SJ skips the meeting with QT, shows up another day, no questions asked (from us as readers).

She also did not return to the main story. They kissed, QT was quite reflective of that, and then... nothing, they behave the same as usual (in the sweet potato scene, as for this latest update, there is no way to tell how much time passed between the kiss scene and now, this is just a little snippet that could have happened months after they resolved everything).

Also, the story did not previously do what is doing now. The first kiss + the new (however short) drama was consistently built and hyped over a course of several consecutive releases, but the story has for the last 7 chapters been downright adamant at not going back to any of this. From a pacing standpoint, this sucks, and considering it coincided with the whole censorship issue, it really might be down to the author not being in the mood to tackle it.

So, Tan Jiu could have just taken an extended break from the main events to recharge and to think about how to continue.

Exactly, and if she really did that, it would have been better, in my opinion, to take a break from new releases and just think things through. This will sound callous (or shameful, if that feels better for you), but I am not invested in this story because of the author, or what she is facing in China (as appalling as the situation is there). I am invested in the story itself, and when pacing starts to go all over the place, as it is now, I am not really interested in exactly what real life circumstances in author's life led to this. However deplorable the censorship issue is, it will not suddenly make me think "nah, pacing is completely fine, the author is just going through some rough patches in real life".

Many people were displeased with the fangirl getting in the way of the post-kiss aftermath. Now, we are getting neither the aforementioned aftermath, nor are we getting the fangirl arc conclusion (which is something I got invested into as well). Personally, I find this to be lacking. Not heavily, since the updates themselves are still cute, but my overall enjoyment of these episodes has been lower than it would have been had they been released later.

To be honest, I find it rather shameful that you'd ask a writer to quit everything because of what you'd personally prefer to have. What she is releasing is still of good quality and if it helps her cope then continuing or not continuing with what she can release is at her discretion and her's alone.

Firstly, I did not mean it in the sense of quitting, rather, she continues to draw, but just holds on releasing it. These releases are also going at an absurdly fast pace, considering how long it previously took to get a new update. Secondly, learn to read. I was expressing a personal opinion (evident in the phrase "I would almost prefer", but I guess these days one has to actually use the phrase in my personal opinion in bold text for the message to get across), and I explained why I am personally not a fan of this current pace. At no point was I saying anything about what is or is not at author's discretion.

I doubt it, because it was the paper edition that ran into censorship problems. The webcomic itself already had the confession, the kiss, and the whole low-key romance in between, without any problems. It is actually that confession scene which is causing the current difficulties, and that was ages ago in the web issue of the story.

That being said, I would almost prefer at this point the author just stops releasing these little snippets, because every time I see them, my main reaction is disappointment over it not being a continuation of the main story and that titbit of drama which accompanied it. Which is a shame, because these are still cute, and were they released later, I would have thoroughly enjoyed them. As is, what would otherwise have me go "waah, cute", is now causing a reaction more along the lines of "and now, the main couple walks over a puddle, great".
