...Wakana's feelings of wanting to be real with someone and getting to love something with everything she is are dragged out into the open, no longer restrained, allowing Wakana to actually be the person she wants to be, all with the help of one small no worries enthrallment lmao.

Yeah, it seems like she's free of inhibitions. Since everything is being filtered through her newly unlocked goth doll / vamp girl wish fulfillment she has maintained her own agenda in a way still. It's possible almost any seemingly direct order could be reinterpreted to serve her own fantasy.

While this got dropped a long time ago I kept up with it and it's next chapter is it's last. Seven Seas picked it up so if anyone was wanting to read the rest that's going to be released beginning in 12/2025. That'll be more print volumes than Japan got since the final two volumes were digital only I think. It did get a proper enough ending for the type of series it was though.

I made it through my favorite character playing for over a year with her arm broken. This final little bit is nothing. It looks to be ending before my schooling is paid off at least and that was becoming a concern.

Wdym ending? Don't forget, we still got the the whole Individuals championship to come after this :D There's at least another decade worth of mahjong in this series, easy xD

Oh hush. Don’t give them any ideas. The only way I could be drug back in for more after this ends is if Hisa graduates and changes her mind to go pro in another spinoff. Then i’ll reset the clock to my car payment.

The main story is taking forever partially due to the spinoffs, breaks, slow releases etc, but I don’t get the complaint about no end goal. Huh? It’s in the final stretch of a very structured game that’s been central the story all along. It’s never been a tournament with no end.

To me the mom is too focused on righting the wrong “wrong” in her own life through her child. In this case she thinks it was her missing out on education so she’s making sure her daughter doesn’t. Worse, she’s conflating education success in her mind to her connection to her daughter. Things are “good” between them when that is good and she doesn’t have the emotional tools to interpret things differently. The good results prove the love her eyes can’t see.

What she doesn’t realize is that the biggest loss in her life actually was missing out on real love and affection from everyone who should have given it to her freely from her parents to her good for nothing husband she didn’t pick. If she only had her education she wouldn’t have been stuck in that shrinking loveless world. Partially true, but she’s learned the wrong lesson from her life.

So when her kid, at the doorway to reaching the educational success she missed out on, finds romantic love it feels more like a threat to what she sees as their connection. And since she’s so fucked up about love she can’t feel it from her daughter outside of a very specific context that is trapping her daughter and creating this false line in the sand. She needs to love freely without all of the conditional baggage to really love her daughter right and be able to feel loved properly too. Maybe this knock to her head and brush with mortality will at least force her to let someone without bad motives care for her. Something she’s never had.

Oh nice. I just finished season two on Gaga the other day. Way back when I looked at the wiki to see if the series was based on a manga it was super confusing with the non-yuri manga that came first. Anyways, weird way to get there but got there in the end I guess.

If you like this check out their earlier “I'm a Cabaret Hostess But I Fell For a College Girl” (is this only at MD?) which went for just one volume but has similar humor. I wish they got to do longer series, but this one looks to be short as well? At least it is structured to be short. I want more though.

I can’t drum up any hate for either of them. Their motivations are easy to get and teenagers being a touch insecure and selfish (Diana) or stubborn in their plans (Lapis) is what makes a plot move forward.

It appears the live action is getting a s2 of some sort.

That might explain her taking a month out of her current series when she doesn’t seem low on energy. At least for older women. cough

I’m not sure if she is actually drawing more of this manga or just working on the script. Or if it will eventually swing back around in manga form.

So this is confirmation that she is an actual vampire then, yeah? I wonder why she's so ignorant of the laws and how her own powers work then

It's still possible to be a vampire...and be extremely sheltered with delusions of grandeur. It's like the countryside to the big city trope.

Without seeing other vampires it's hard to tell what the norm is or if everyone is typically compliant with laws regarding humans and living integrated vs the stray orthodox vampire sects or whatever clashing. So far we've heard of one (likely idiot by the sounds of it) who got in trouble with the law and the MC.

The Sanrio Character Pop-Up Shop opened online with a (not my favorite) proxy option.

This was just picked up by Yen Press. Monster yuri well represented lately I feel. They've named it "Common-Sense Monster".

Good news. At the end of volume 8 she said her editor informed her things are going well enough to end the series as originally planned with volume 9. So everything seems to be pointing in the right direction for this to get the intended ending after that scare.

Also she said that Volume 1 in print is going ahead with a March release as well.

Here's to being trapped in Sumiko's ongoing songfic another year.

I like that one for Mitsuki.

It's the volume 3 countdown like she usually has done,

volume 3 has been announced on December 24th.

For every volume she’s drawn a series of character images to literally count down to when the volume hit the store shelves in Japan. Numbers and all. She is hyping the actual drop. This isn’t her first time. The volume has the anime announcement printed right on it so she might also mention it, but she does these series for the volumes.

It's the volume 3 countdown like she usually has done, but the anime announcement is printed right on the obi so it's widely known in Japan already with early sales already circulating. She may still use Day 0 on an announcement all the same though. I don't think she's ever been first to announcing with all the leaks. Maybe that Sanrio collaboration she was close.

I know for Cooks/Eats it fit into the mainstream women’s programming tv time block and was well received. AyaHiro was on late night tv where it was broadcast (strangely available in some cities but not others on tv) tho mainly was meant for streaming on demand anyway where it did great. Looking forward to how this Hulu release does and what the budget looks like. I’ve been buying the manga here and there but it’s been ages since I read the first volume from my stack so far. I need to prioritize it.

I think my first live concert was going to The Moody Blues with a pit orchestra as a child. Days of Future Passed was recorded with an orchestra. More recently Muse comes to mind. It all sounds natural to me. Maybe I’ve just avoided the disaster ones.

The POV of Japanese teens and a Japanese audience on this as a novelty might be very different. It is entertaining so far at least.

Apparently RHCP tours in Japan a lot and has for years and their songs chart there. It’s a hike to get over there so bands that make the effort get the local reward. Cheap Trick had a good stretch there back in the day which you’d never guess either. Bands that tour well and make it a habit to include Japan get the reward.

I know I will be probably the only one to think this, but if they do kiss after this scene, whether it's next chapter or not, I'll be disappointed.

The reason why is that we never got to see Mitsuki realizing her feelings for Aya. Nor even question her sexuality.

I wouldn't be surprised if Mitsuki doesn't question her own sexuality. Not everyone does. Particularly those who have already had to think about and protect their identity at a very young age from multiple fronts.

She's 18 now and has been an "I am what I am" kind of person since grade school. Joe and Kanna easily recognized and accepted Aya too which makes it seem like that isn't something revolutionary for their family about her either. She's had things to work out, including her issues with love, but sexuality isn't something I'm waiting for. The traditional sexuality realization story has been more Aya's side of things with Onii-san/Koga and her mom.

To me Mitsuki's feelings are something that runs parallel with her musical breakthroughs so you pay attention to where she is with one to see the other. It's been going on from the opening tap. Recently she wrote an EP with the band name "Me to You" and she played the band that Aya said she sounded like to find her at prom. Her realizing feelings has been happening the whole time.

Yeah, it’s been really good through what’s been released so far. It’s easier to see why it took off in Japan early on as it did. I think vol 3 came out today actually.

I also saw the official name was changing, but I think it’s too late for the English release. At this point I’m just used to really long nonsensical named manga so it isn’t a barrier for me at least.

Tomato juice? Really?! Not that I care, just here for the silly gay hijinx, but come on.

I think it's a silly but fun thing myself, and it pops up in manga here and there

Yeah, it's a common trope in Japan to make vampire stuff kid-friendly (and for comedy).

Endo Yasuko Stalks the Night had a vampire eating a bowl of cherry tomatoes so naturally I thought it was some kind of innuendo since it was Flowerchild.
