Dang, what with the hate on Hiiragi ? What she does is pretty understandable. Imagine having your twin who always relied on you suddendly becoming better than you at everything but still thinking she is worthless without you. Hiiragi is just angry that her sister can't realize how good she is and instead insist on puttting herself down. Imagine how frustrating that is, having someone who is better than you but insisting on telling she is bad, it's extremlyfrustrating.

Leaving aside the issue that all of this mess could have been avoided if Hiiragi had had the guts to say a single sentence about her plans or her feelings to Tsubaki...

You may not realize this, but high schools in Japan are a big deal. They can have a huge impact on your acceptance into a prestigious university, which in turn will have a huge impact on your job prospects (much larger than how well you actually study at that university). By refusing to simply tell Tsubaki that she wanted to go to a different high school, and thereby letting her deliberately downgrade to a lesser school than the one she wanted, Hiiragi may have damaged Tsubaki's future prospects very badly out of nothing but petty spite and insecurity. In Tsubaki's position, I'm not sure I could ever forgive that.

Also, this is making me hate Hiiragi a great deal indeed, but objectively their parents are even worse. It was their responsibility to step in and clarify the situation when Tsubaki turned down her first choice of high school under the impression that she would be going to the same place as Hiiragi. They knew Hiiragi's plans. They have failed their daughters quite thoroughly.

Keep in mind, not only is she stuck in the rat race for employment, she's in Japan. Where:
- You're supposed to write every single application letter and CV by hand like in the 1800's, for whatever reason - it's hard to imagine a more pointless and soul-grinding exercise
- You're basically applying for a lifetime of servitude to a company you have no negotiating power against, who can do with you anything they want once you're hired because quitting will just make you unemployable forever
- Even if you do get hired, what awaits you is the worst work culture in the developed world, especially when you're a woman
In her position I would have snapped too.

What kind of person sees a bike parked somewhere and just... takes it? She deserves to be sued into bankruptcy.

Astra is such a chad. Unironically the best character.

Well this was nice (although RIP Uraraka). What was with Toru blushing on page 3?

I have a few questions though. What I want to know is WTF is a sixth month anniversary? Is Yuni just subconsciously sabotaging their own relationship with ridiculous expectations? Why is Nanase such a tool?

Even if a six-month anniversary were a weird thing to celebrate (which judging by other comments and my own experiences doesn't seem to be the case, at least not for teenage couples), it still wouldn't be a ridiculous expectation. One of the very, very few things Yuni has been clear about from the very start is that she expects Nanase to remember their anniversaries and do something special for them. Nanase knows this. She is already by default an extremely uninvolved partner in the relationship and makes no effort whatsoever to make it work, so it's hardly ridiculous to expect her to set one day a month aside, especially when all Yuni apparently wants from her is a phone call.

Like, of course cheating is wrong in and of itself, but it's actually hard for me to feel bad for Nanase at this point. She's not a bad person, but she is objectively a bad partner who gives off the impression of just not caring about Yuni very much.

Yeah, this whole no-dating policy is an egregious abuse of human rights companies adhere to to pander to incels. Not to mention that it is literally illegal and officially cannot be enforced. It's honestly a pretty negative development for the story, and I'll be quite disappointed if the manga just glosses over it like they usually do.

^^I mean, it's pretty obvious that Kiara loves Calli as a friend and vice-versa (talking about the RL people here). They've gone over that at great length and in a variety of contexts. Like, Calli nearly shelled out 3,000 dollars on a fancy hotel room for their trip, I don't have any friends close enough that I would do that for them lol. But yeah, there was never any indication that it was romantic IRL.

And TBH, if Kiara's actress did act towards Calli's actress the way Kiara the character acts towards Calli the character, it would be sexual harassment, so we're probably better off that way...

I still think Shizuku was too easily forgiven in this story.

I'm honestly a bit confused by how many people here act like the gyaru was in the wrong. Literally the worst thing she did was snatch away the otaku's drawings and give them back immediately. I mean sure, she called them creepy, but objectively, it is creepy to draw yuri manga about your classmates (or using their appearance). It's the otaku who is to blame for this outcome: she's the one who made a nasty, prejudiced call about the gyaru and shot her down when she was trying to establish a rapport.

I'm completely fucking wasted rn. Anyone care to explain to me why's blond girl bad to me? She seems kinda fine just in love with a gold digger

Having sex with someone shitfaced drunk, without any pre-existing consent, a virgin no less, is considered pretty rapey these days.

That's not even a little rapey, it's straight up rape in any real world context, but it's a manga, a one shot at that so it definitely could be worse, especially from Kodama.

Also, I think some of y'all are being too kind to this Ayaka, her actions and attitude may be understandable, but that doesn't make them okay.

What's not okay about Ayaka's actions? She's not hurting anyone.

Which couple will get together first? Saki and Chika or Tsukishi and Hinoka from "Rejected in a Dream"? Place your bets now!

Right now the author in "Rejected in a Dream" seems to post a lot more regularly than this one (we still hasn't caught up to the raws with this one). My bet is on Tsukishi and Hinoka as long as the last chapter's debacle doesn't discourage the author of "Rejected in a Dream" from posting as regularly.

Wait, what happened?

joined Jun 30, 2017

Yeah, no, Hinoka does think they're dating. This is going to get very embarrassing before it gets better.

I'm also confused. Did we skip an episode somewhere?

I usually don't care for cheating tropes but honestly, her relationship with Nanase looks so dysfunctional already this is just accelerating the inevitable.

IDK, usually when a character goes "I'm going to die here" they don't, but then again all this talk about having children is like the strongest death flag that exists.

It's weird, I caught up to this a couple of days ago and I just cannot get over... that. My heart is heavy, I feel depressed, and every time the story goes back to her I feel like I'm going to cry. This doesn't usually happen to me. After chapter 13 I was relieved, then chapter 14 opens with the memento from a loved one and I was just like, motherf*cker.

Whenever I try reading a harem series (for whatever reason) I never manage to overlook the fact that they all fall for a dude based on what is really extremely basic courtesy anyone should extend to anyone else. Like "he's nice" or "he smiled at me" or "he told me it would be okay when I was stressed out" or probably "he gave me directions once."

And I'm like, what happened to these girls to make their standards so low? Have they only ever been around abusive assholes their entire life before? Do they have untreated PTSD? Is Japan just a society of completely self-absorbed egotists such that just being polite and decent becomes irresistibly rare and attractive?

Anyway, yes, they should all just forget about him and fall for each other instead, that would be less demeaning.

I really don't care if the story is dumber than a box of hair (don't need to suspend disbelief if you never bother to believe in it in the first place) because this is the perfect excuse for Rankarana to go completely bananas on the localization. The goofy dialogue styles she's come up with for both of the main characters here are great, as is deathless prose like, "I'm gonna get those shitbags and beat the shit right out of them."

I agree, it's worth reading this for the dialogue localization alone.
