I still remember the time when this episode's events were current in the manga. When Maki saw them kiss everyone lost their minds and said he was an enemy, there would be blackmail, this would all turn into horrible drama.

It's sad how we are missing out on such beautiful overreactions in the anime, because the revelation of his true character was given right in the same episode.

Though to this day I still know some people who say he is fishy and they dont trust him lol

"Eroi" The way Touko said that gave me shivers. Damn this adaptation is good. Episode 4 continues to impress (one weird walking shot aside). It also makes me appreciate Nakatani's well ordered structure and foreshadowing that much more.

PS: That shot when Yuu thinks Maki is going to spill the beans and how it will affect Touko was really elaborate and cool.

I just remembered that someone noticed that, near the end of episode 3, a guy saw how Touko hugged Yuu from the rear and then whispered something. That someone thought that the guy in question already has started getting suspicious about it. Now, even though I did watch episode 3 last week, my brother didn't. For several days, we struggled to find episode 3 again, so we only watched it today. Guess what? The guy in question was Maki! And to realize that only on the day the following episode is released. That's whatI call "inefficient timing".

Yeah it was pretty obviously Maki. And they even referenced that shot in Episode 4.

The chapter where Toukou asks Yuu that she iniciates the kiss, but Yuu refuse. Then Toukou kiss her even with tongue. Now imagine what the people would say if that was a guy telling a girl that. That manga has some incredible toxic dinamics, you know, just because it's between girls doens't make it cuter. All the thing that you just love someone who isn't into you? And force them to even kiss you? I don't know in the recents chapters because I put it in hiatus around chapter 20

Except she has asked Yuu several times before if she is okay with Touko kissing her and Yuu said she can? Or the fact that Yuu promised to kiss her, but she didn't so Touko just initiatied the kiss like usual? What's toxic about that? Not even mentioning that very chapter is one of the first to imply that Yuu has feelings for Touko and cant kiss her exactly because of that. This wouldn't be any worse with a hetero romance, in fact that kinda thing has been done before. You sure sound like you didn't really get the story.

^Meltlilith, just like all alter egos, has a hardcore super crush on the protagonist, which you can (and like 99% do) choose to be female. Hakunon is the best option anyway, because she gets the best of both worlds. All the girls and all the boys.

The first English volume of Futaribeya arrived in my mail today.
The translation seems fairly similar to the one on this site and feels spot on. It doesn't shy away from the "subtext" at all. The only problem is that the panels go very deep into the center of the double-page, so you gotta stretch the book a bit. Other than that, very nice.
Can only recommend buying it!

I’m a fan here, and I’d like to keep it that way. But studying how comics work is (part of) what I do for a living, and has been for a very long time. Manga has been some part of that since the beginning, but others around here are far more knowledgeable about manga than I am.

Gotcha. We all need to study others to improve our own work.

One of the most anticipating scenes in anime version tbh. That kiss and and the sound of heart started to beat.

It is probably the single most exciting scene in the manga. At least where it gets your heart racing.
I felt quite anxious when Yuu went to confess too, but that was more out of dread.
