Random venting:

A month or so ago, I posted a message on reddit looking to hire an artist to draw a six-page Mokou x Kaguya fan art manga. It's a tricky business when you do that because finding someone that way who can actually draw worth a damn isn't easy.

But I found a guy! And we started working together. Was a solid collab. Got the storyboards all done, some rough sketching done...

...and then the radio silence started. Would go days without hearing from him. Progress was super slow. And he started mentioning how difficult it was, much more difficult than he expected.

Today, he bailed on me. Refunded my money, so at least he's honest and honorable. But now I'm back at square one and I am annoyed.

I was inspired to look for Sakura x Toba this morning after a conversation on the previous Sakura x Rin pic. Found a couple good ones, suggested them for uploading, looks like they took me up on this one.

This particular artist has more than one Sakura x Toba piece on their Pixiv page, too.

Bah, the comment section on that pic was tame. TAME, I tell you. We were all well-behaved.

As odd as it sounds, I totally ship it. Sakura is exactly the sort of level-headed no-nonsense girlfriend Toba needs to keep her in line.

Like, Rin just made a huge detour and cancel her own camping just to check on Nadeshiko. The first is just that Rin don't wanna have come all the way here for nothing and the second is just that's it's late and same reasoning than before, Sakura is just nice because she know all the road that RIn has done to come here.

This is moving the goalposts, tho. You can certainly ship Rin with Nadeshiko for a variety of reasons.

But there are clear interactions between Rin and Sakura that quite easily lend themselves to shipping if that's how you wanna roll. It's not some huge mystery.
