Pretty much what I expected. Liking/being attracted to women is the common denominator to liking yuri, not being male or female. And while some series rank higher with certain demographics, there's definitely a lot of overlap.

Two main questions I have: Why does Girlfriends resonate with guys the most, and what percentage of yaoi fans are non-het guys?

There were pretty blatant hints almost from the beginning that master was as much a predator as a guardian. In particular the bath scene from the beach doujin was borderline pornographic and made master look really bad.

It's like how Rin left her position of Art Director because she had other goals and dreams for her future, despite that move being much to Kou's dismay. Demanding Kou give up her goals for the future just to stay by Rin would likely end up making her unhappy. And possibly resent Rin for it.

It's because she understands this that Rin can't really push too hard to stop her.

She's not a jerk for leaving, but she might be one for telling a person with longtime unrequited feelings towards her to to wait for her while she's gone.

^^Highly doubt showing more coverage of one character who happens to be gay will cause an apocalypse. Overwatch isn't like those two franchises at all, most fans just like playing FPS games.

^One problem is that Blizzard seems extremely reluctant to reveal anything about Emily's character or show her doing... pretty much anything. I think they're afraid of being accused of pandering to the LGBT community, which several people did anyway. I wish they'd ignore those people and flesh out Emily more.
