Tracer in normal clothes makes me fully appreciate how ridiculous that hair of her's is.
Somehow I'm not surprised there is an Overwatch symbol on that coffee cup, I bet Overwatch markets the shit out of that. I bet they have action figures, TV shows, the whole nine yards. Would be a good source of additional revenue.

Just to reiterate on the above, I meant Overwatch the in-universe organisation, not the real-world game. I am well aware of the games marketing and licensing.

There's a disturbing lack of pictures of Emily and Tracer hanging out casually like a normal couple. More like this, please.
Also thumbs up for not drawing Emily in that one Christmas sweater for once.

^One problem is that Blizzard seems extremely reluctant to reveal anything about Emily's character or show her doing... pretty much anything. I think they're afraid of being accused of pandering to the LGBT community, which several people did anyway. I wish they'd ignore those people and flesh out Emily more.

^I actually think the opposite. To quote another user:
"why is it always media that tries to be open and inclusive like steven universe, overwatch, dream daddy, that have the worst fanbases that run around telling eachother to kill themselves over inaccurate fanart and headcanon disputes?"
"Because they try to be progressive and sadly the majority (or at least a very very loud minority) of the “progressive” people are the most toxic and “hungry” people out there.
It’s impossible to satisfy them, nothing is “progressive” enough.
You give them an inch and they’ll rip your arm off and take a mile.
This is partly why most artists, producers, directors, etc, are so reluctant to make more progressive content. No matter what they do, they’ll receive colossal backlash, so they just stick to what they know, the safe route.
Ironic really, that those that demand progressiveness are inadvertently stunting it."

^^Highly doubt showing more coverage of one character who happens to be gay will cause an apocalypse. Overwatch isn't like those two franchises at all, most fans just like playing FPS games.

On one hand, a single appearance is about on par with most other Overwatch "NPCs" who don't appear in the actual game, so I definitively don't think that Blizzard are scared of using her for whatever reason.
On the other hand, she's the closests thing that the flagship hero, the literal poster girl and face of the franchise has to a personal life, so a tiny bit of special treatment would've been nice, if only as a cameo on a spray or an in-game photo or something.
But really when it comes down to it, I'm not really that bothered by how Blizzard handles Emily, it's really just that I know fans are good at coming up with new outfits, so it's kind of missed potential to not play dress up with her in more fanart. These two are cute together either way, though. With all due respect to the widowtracers, I personally really like their "worldsaving, time-jumping superhero with completely mundane and normal girlfriend" dynamic. The fact that they somehow ended up together and presumably make it work is more interesting to me than the actual international intrigue and covert operations stuff.
