I don't understand this manga at all. How is it Himari's fault that Shiro abandoned its kitten? Why is feeding a stray cat lumped in with abandoning one yourself? The messaging about taking responsibility makes sense of neglecting an adopted cat, but I don't see how it pertains to feeding strays at all.

You could say Kanda was overreacting quite a bit, but in Japan a lot of cats are abandoned because most people live in apartments and don't have room for them. Some people also end up abandoning kittens after they grow up because they aren't cute anymore (basically the focus on Japan's "cute" culture). Those same cats are put in places that euthanize them a few days after because of over capacity. I guess that's what she meant by "not taking responsibility".

I watched the anime about 5 years ago and I just recently played the game. I already liked the pairing back then but the game gives way more implications even if there aren't supposed to be implications. There was one scene where Aoi asked Sakura to stay in her room to protect her and I'm quite surprised there's no doujins on that plot point there. Sakura always protects Aoi, vice versa, you get the point. Aoi even mentions her at the end when they're leaving, Makoto didn't even do that and he considered everyone his friend. I haven't completed Sakura's report card yet but I saw someone said if you pick a certain option Sakura gets mad at you for shipping them which killed my hope for the ship but I suppose the plot should've done that already. Sorry for the tangent, these two are just my favorite lesbian ship ever.

The art isn't the best (which is expected of a newcomer, I hope their art improves like mochi's did) which made me think it would be just another generic story but it touched my heart. Don't judge a book by it's cover, kids!
