@ieeheh Yo. o/
I think it's a little similar to the situation with kdrama fandom where there's hardly any fic. Western TV is generally plot-driven and so a lot of fanfic comes out of the need to explore/fill in characters and relationships in more depth that what's given in canon. Meanwhile, for kdramas which are generally more relationship-driven, that characterization is already there in canon, so 1) there's less of a drive to write in the first place, and 2) fic writers end up having a lot less wiggle room before running into OOC territory so it's actually harder to write good fic.
Of course, I'm not really involved in kdrama fandom, and I'm not a fic writer (though I've made some embarrassing attempts in the past) so perhaps none of the above is actually true haha.
Finally someone said it! I've always wondered why there aren't any fanfics of FF floating around...although there are a few good fanarts.
I think a very important reason for no FanFics is what cipp said. Because their feelings and emotions/motives are very well developed, so there is no room to write much about it without going OOC, or making up a whole different genre/parallel universe with them. So the story itself is kinda limitating the room for fanfictions.
Only thing I could think rn would be maybe some extra stories of their daily life that is heavilly based on the original chapters, or Seol-A and No-Rae in the future when they start dating. But honestly, I think Ssamba would make a better job at it.
In some Anime/Manga the artists left plotholes and this is when a lot of fanfictions get inspired by.Also fandoms are not used to making fanfictions about manhwas or manhuas in general. They usually do when they see an anime.
The only manga I've seen (at least from yuri) getting some fanfictions without releasing an anime is Citrus so far.
@MacySan beat me to it. I've also observed that fanfiction tends to be light around character-driven stories wherein the characters are well developed. So pretty much what she said.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised or disappointed if their relationship progressed without a confession. That's the sort of vibe I'm getting from Seol-a, anyways.
In real life, if two people experienced what happened in the chapter 63 and 64, could the two of them possibly act like Seola and Norae did in chapter 65?
nope, in real life, things like these could never be swept under the rug.
there are so many ways to communicate how you feel now. if you couldnt do it face-to-face, hello messengers.
and with two women, who would always over-analyse situations like these, and would want to talk about feelings.
just having a small discussion about it, would def clear everything.
and carpe diem! it's such a waste of time to spend time together and NOT be together.
in this story, it seems like the characters completely forgot the previous chapters.
What?? Of course this can be swept under the run. Things even more shocking can be swept under the rug. Also, over analyzing is a well worn path to indecision. Plus, No-rae tends not to overanalyze things--or analyze things, period. She's an expert at letting things pass over her.
People fail at communicating all the time, and many do not know the importance of it. If someone taught you, great, but at what point have either of these characters shown that they've made that growth step? Why would they suddenly be direct with each other now?
Also, Korean culture. I'm American, and relative to my experience "direct expression of self" is not something I associate with any of the East Asian cultures I've studied. Nowhere near... It's one of the most obvious contrasts. The lack of directness is a defining characteristic of the languages spoken, which greatly influence and reflect cultural expression.
In real life, if two people experienced what happened in the chapter 63 and 64, could the two of them possibly act like Seola and Norae did in chapter 65?
Hell to the no! Who comes this close to kissing the person they loves and then just let it all be forgotten?!
I actually think it's really out of character- the fact that Seol-a didn't confront No-rae about it at some point since she's going all after her anyway- but I get that it's for the sake of the story. If I was instead of her though, I would've gone crazy~!
Also I realized I never properly thanked Halomni so, THANK YOU!!!! You really do make my week every Sunday and I really do appreciate it! Without your translations I would've gone even crazier than I did because of Ssamba. If there is anyway we could help please let us know!
How is this out of character? Seol-a is quite bold, yes, but she's still a girl approaching another girl. Korean. Young (still in Uni). She's conscious of the risk of being rejected and losing her friend (one of two??). Given No-rae's non-reaction, I expected Seol-a to retreat, observe and move in again when she sees a good opportunity. And I think she took it at the end, here. Instead of being selfish and making assumptions, she's trying to accommodate the person she cares about while steadily nudging her forward.
I think Ssamba's done an amazing job creating characters with depth who stand on their own. They are not you or me or anyone in this forum, though many of us have empathized with one or multiple of them at times.
No-rae is waaay into the non-combative/conflict-averse personality area, usually, and Seol-a is maturing into a more dependable potential partner. Pushing someone scared up against a wall be a tactless move. Seol-a knows that No-rae had an intense relationship that ended badly, and she is new with regards to really caring about someone romantically. She want "do this right".
Like @ieeheh said, It's been hinted at multiple times in the past that No-rae isn't the A-plus student having an easy time catching-up on her gap time. She's expressed concern about tests and projects and not keeping up in the past. This isn't an out-of-nowhere development. No-rae's world doesn't revolve around her relationship with Seol-a (clearly). Why can't she worry about not meeting her academic goals for a day? The gateway to adulthood, a job and being self-sufficient. It's a big deal. Seol-a's been a top student from day one, and No-rae...hasn't. The graduation was going to be an event either way because in real life performing differently through university impacts post-graduation options. They would've had very different opportunities.
We're so used to reading manga, stories and other media feature A-plus students, prodigies, stars. But these are just people. They're not perfect. They do irrational things. They're falling in love in some sort of realistic manner. How often in reality is that not messy? If you have not met people who act and respond like these two, live longer (and spend more time observing). Seriously.
No-rae wants to be resolute in her decision to be in another romantic relationship, and we've been given no new indicators that she is more ready. You could run away with the hand holding, but I think that would be a setup. She's not going to be ready just because there's a bunch of people wishing her to be. I'm with her brother.
I think it's great we're finally learning more about No-rae. Instead of pulling some hi-jinks to make her suddenly self-revealing, we are getting to know her through the lens of No-rae spending time with her family. She has clearly expressed how much she loves her family and spending time with them, and she's been attending a remote school
I'm sure Seol-a's enjoying this opportunity as well. Experiencing No-rae in this environment; there's a lot for Seol-a to take in. She seems to be to be in a very pensive mood, so I'm sure we'll be getting something new from her (when she's back to be the main focus or a more significant part of it).
Still loving Hee-jin. I love the way she's calmly just telling everybody No-rae's feeling doomed. She is awesome.
P.S. My day was almost tanked after a communication failure with a friend wherein I felt completely misunderstood and ultimately lost to withdrawal temporarily, so right now I'm extra sensitive to reactions and evaluations of these characters wherein the complainer doesn't appear to have considered a perspective other than his or her own. I'm fine with people complaining about their expectations for progression not being met, but--urggh. None of these reactions are surprising, but I still wish people weren't as stuck in their own perspectives as much as they are.
P.P.S. At least I can depend on Ssamba to keep doing her thing.
P.P.P.S. I like @chocofudge's summary. I also don't believe No-rae to be dense--not in all respects. In fact, I think she has much better intuition about people and their needs that Seol-a, but having the information implies neither letting others know you know nor acting upon it. All separate things.
The hand holding stuff is kinda weird, I mean, the position or their hands didnt make sense with the position of their bodies. Or maybe Im still sleepy.
I wanted something else, we have seen them walking and holding hands before, and No-Rae blushed the last time too. I wasnt expecting a kiss but I was hoping (since like 3 or 4 weeks ago) that it will happen on chapter 66. Doesnt seem likely.
Last time they held hands, Seol-a made up this on-the-spot, super awkward excuse. This was a follow-up attempt by Seol-a (after some previous night's FAIL, for which I shake my head at No-rae). I really want to know the two questions they exchanged were this time. (I want to know if No-rae showed any signs of acceptance, obviously.) Also, given the close proximity with the FAIL, this shows that Seol-a has moved beyond her fear.
Unless No-rae is even more dense than we thought, she must've taken notice too. Hopefully, that helps her build trust in the idea of them moving into a romantic relationship. Seol-a's showing her dependability and support. This is nowhere near "square 1". Seol-a didn't know how to do that, how to be there for someone in a relationship. This is her first time. I don't think she was in love with Yu-Ji (and I can't be convinced), but I think that arc showed her immaturity in this regard (as if anyone modern is mature about relationships at that age). Seol-a is becoming more of a person that can meet No-rae's conscious and unconscious reliability needs.
...ah. Okay. I found some frames from chapter 64 to put along side, and, yeah, it looks like Hee-jin.
She--this Hee-jin--is something else, ha-ha.,

Given the way No-rae reacted last chap, she's clearly not ready. I think the hand holding move by Seol-a shows resolution without being pushy. She's there for her.
This was a perfect development for me.
Something about Norae not graduating on time...
Norae and Seola don't say much to each other at the end, but the hand-holding is still sweet.I have so many questions:
Who was the really, really tall chica chatting with Seol-a?!
Norae's older sister.
Okay. So I was kinda upset after you spoiled my previous guess with reality (that No-rae was just acting childishly depressed over her delayed graduation), but this makes way more sense for me, ha-ha. She's drawn differently. Hee-jin's hair is drawn black and plain, and, yeah, the height thing.
So looking forward to @halmoni making my day over again. (^__^ )
Who was the really, really tall chica chatting with Seol-a?!
Wasn't it Hee-jin?
I thought that might be the case, but I didn't remember her being so tall. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Depressed No-rae was so cute this chapter though. After the evening, she totally knew but probably got so ripped because she missed the chance, or because she had no balls to do anything.
It was that. (--- __ ---- )

I have so many questions:
Who was the really, really tall chica chatting with Seol-a?!
(Why did my password manager pick the third-to-last frame to switch my window away for a two-factor authentication prompt?! (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻)
As soon as we saw Bro go over to No-rae and then the switch to them walking (and talking) on the beach, we knew there was hope. He totally gets the FF fan savior badge this week. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ ✧゚・: *ヽ(◕ヮ◕ヽ)
THANK YOU LORD SSAMBA. IT'S FINALIZED. THAT HAND HOLDING.
SEOL-A, THE LOVE OF MY LIFE. YOU'VE NEVER FAILED TO AMAZE
Ieeheh... (no words)
Today is a good day. (ಥ﹏ಥ)

"Hello, this is Ssamba.
I haven't been feeling very well due to a cold, so inevitably
Fluttering Feelings is on hiatus this week.
I'm sorry.
I kindly ask for your understanding."I hope Ssamba gets better but damn it's like they knew I had midterms this week
Wow all of these salty tears I'm lovin it
Thank you for the translation (as always). I wish you the best in killing those midterms.
ffins07 I'll need you to be with me on this next Sunday, cuz I won't be able to hold myself up after another week of waiting
LOL
I should be able to manage it next Sunday. Life is an--I don't do quotes. Life knocked be down a couple times last week and FF really picked me up last Sunday, but the bumps haunted me a bit through this week. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I hope to be there with you (in spirit) trying to DDOS Comico next Sunday, pre release. ;)
I've finally gotten around to completely re-reading FF since ...hmmm. I can't recall the last time I did a full read. Anyway, I'm really enjoying the pace. Just read chapter 57, which I lovvved. ...I was almost surprised re-noticing that No-rae acknowledge her romantic feelings as early as chapter 37. That seems like forever ago. Still impressed at how complex but consistent Ssamba's characters are.
Ha-ha. I already feel like I want to re-read it again, but pay attention to the art style. I was tracking it in the early chapter--the first 20 or so--but got caught up in the story (of course). The changes in style were much more drastic in the early going though too.
...The re-read was also a good way to re-impress the side characters' names upon my mind, ha-ha. I'm terrible with names, but I forgot that Seol-a did have one (female) friend other than No-rae.

I wish SSamba well. Hope it remains a minor bug, thing.

Another release day eve, another comic (but I think I'm all comicked out now, really). It's a not-comic comic this time (at least not intentionally)... though I couldn't help but add a small joke ending at the end of the post.I think I went a little too cheesy for this one, but I hope it's still palatable, enjoy :) See you guys on the other side...
Edit: Tumblr resolution is crap, so use the original resolution links at the bottom!
Good job. Ha-ha. Kudos.
Hmmm... Interesting progression. But I like it.
...and now to wait until 2017. Yeesh...
Folks, prepare!!
No-rae: So she'll (Hee-jin) have to sleep at her place tonight.
I have a feeling Ssamba didn't mention that for nothing. It's hinting they'll be alone in No-rae's room and we should expect some *heavy breathing* next week afer some *ba-thump ba-thump ba-thump* this week hahahahah
First, I have to admit that instead of reading, I did some work. But I had good reason. I left a serious mess behind yesterday--all right. Back to FF. \o/
@ieeheh: ...Where to start. I was like "surely, words can't make this chapter any better". And they didn't (from a happiness standpoint), but they did...from a helping me out with "where are we now (emotionally)?" standpoint. (Devil's in the details. :/ )
From the car ride, where Seol's like "I completely forgot that they were from the same town... (small text): I thought it was gonna be just the two of us..." --Wait. What?! I totally didn't see "(small text): I thought it was gonna be just the two of us..." when I first read the translations--but anyway, I was going to say it seemed to me that Seol-a thought they were going to be alone on the ride there. >. < More importantly, from the other side, No-rae didn't jump at the opportunity for just the two of them. (Omg. Have I not been in a situation like this with that No-rae-like person. This hurts!!)
So we get to the scene where Seol-a's comfortably settled in No-rae's childhood room (waiting for her <-- my thoughts), "wiggl[ing]" her feet.--I really wanted to know what the translation for that was: "wiggle". (Thanks again, @halmoni.) The feet scene really captivated me for whatever reasons. (I'm doing a horrible job of keeping my train of though here. Sorry, folks.)
Rewind: So we get to the sequence where No-rae's coming into her room, still on the phone with Hee-jin. Seol-a politely--you know, any attempt to engage her girl--asks/states "Hee-jin?", and No-rae's just (obliviously) like blah-blah "So she'll have to sleep at her place tonight".
Seol-a: Ah... <-- The ellipses. You (No-rae) are not where I (Seol-a) am at.
No-rae's in happy friend mode and Seol-a is on a different page. The page we want both of them to be on. The "now is a perfect time for us to be alone together and deepen our relationship" page.
Seol-a is all curiosity and tentatively anticipating some progression. She notices the guitars and asks, hoping to learn something new about this person in whom she is so interested. No-rea obliges in the one of the most could-be-ideal-in-a-different-context way, playing a super emotional song. Seol-a hears it. Feels it. But then...
No-rae: Seol-a? Are you okay? <-- WHAT THE (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
I kinda sorta thought it might be the case, but now I feel even more strongly that No-rae might not have registered Seol-a's hand movements until after the fact. We notably weren't shown panes of reciprocal eye contact from No-rae (and we know how good and purposeful Ssamba is with showing exchanged glances). We saw Seol-a's eye-to-hand reaction sequence, but weren't shown any reaction or response (not even hand movement) from No-rae...until the question: "Are you okay?". Are you kidding me? ---- _ ----
...No. Seol-a was in the moment by herself. I think No-rae can figure out what "bothered" Seol-a...but this is just a really no-so-happy situation, to me, right now. I mean, I'm glad No-rae unintentionally potentially catapulted them forward, but the present moment is just tense.
On my first ...few...illiterate readings, No-rae's "cool" pose was simply cute and different, but now it's also symbolic of No-rae showing Seol-a that she's now very comfortable around her BUT in the friend way. She acts that way around her friend...Hye-geong--who's name took me six chapters to find >__>. I'm not saying No-rae thinks of her as a friend, generally, but that does appear to be how she was treating her in this chapter. Seol-a was thinking I get to spend time with my romantic interest, No-rae, and No-rae's view of this whole trip--or at least the first day and night--was a sleepover with two of her good friends.
No-rae's not decided on the romance thing. She's not ready. @ieeheh earlier mentioned she's afraid, and I agree. I think she's not just afraid of getting hurt, but, more immediately, she's disturbed by her actions (and heart) betraying her before she's ready. She knows that Seol-a could be hurt. That she (No-rae) can unwittingly lead Seol-a to believe that she wants more before she's actually ready to be more. Regardless of how much they both care about each other, romantically, while No-rae is in this non-committal state, the situation is precarious.
I think it would be good for No-rae to resolve to moving into a romantic relationship with Seol-a before any sort of more formal confession happens, but we know life doesn't wait. I guess being at home, with her seeming supportive family, is a good place for her to be at this moment. Maybe she'll get help (and confidence) from talking with Oppa or something.
All in all, for me, this chapter was brilliant, moving, fun, painful, progress, realistic, engaging, and I don't know when I could run out of adjectives for it. Man, words make a difference. Powerful stuff. Love it. Thanks again, @halmoni.
EDIT: Looks up at all the words... *scrolls "I wrote all of that? When...?" O__O

The @halmoni has arrived! \o/
Thank you!! *goes off to read*
P.S. Just as I was about to "sign off". You've got great timing, girl.
ffins07 I allowed myself to edit your post and put a link to that post on Sanctuary :> I hope you don't mind
@Alextasha has magical forum super powers. O__O <-- my reaction
Nnn. 's'cool..., since you posted what the edit was.
P.S. ...I think I'm starting to draw a connection here. ..and from previous posts. \==___==.
So cute!! ^ .^
The doki doki at the end clearly showed it was from both of them. The tension is rising.... HIGH... and they have the night ahead of them hahahaha
Unless No-rae pulls a Mai or Yuzu on Seol-a.
You guys are really good with the buzz kill. *slow clap* ( --- _ --- )
ffins07, only you and me in this together ( --- _ --- )
@ieeheh Yes, at least we'll have each other through the end. ...and we can still re-read all the chapters to recharge. Seriously. (That also happens to be my plan...for later today, after I've rested my eyes. == __ ==)
(Do we have consensus on their ship name yet? Cause that would've been less awkward to type.)_
=> Seolrae :)
Man is it me or this chapter seemed way too short ? or is actually shorter ? ^^
And yes please Extreme played that beautiful song so please don't listen to the cover by westlife :)
Thought it was "Seolrae", but haven't seen it in a while. Thank you for the confirmation.
I don't no whether to go "Noooooooo! Seol-a! Noooooo!" for her leaving to calm her heart or to go "Nooooooo! No-rae! Nooooooooo!", when Seol-a listened to the lyrics of her song and made an action to show her obvious affection only for it to click a little too slowly for No-rae, as Seol-a had already stepped outside.
At this point, I'm in no hurry. If every chapter is going to be as romantic as this one was, their realization of their mutual feelings will happen soon enough.
I've been rereading all the posts for chapter 64 (because why wouldn't I?), and one sentiment I'd really like to echo is one of @YamaChan's early reactions. Key word: romantic. That's why I'm reading this manwha. For romance. And Ssamba continues to deliver.
P.S. Random coincidence in overlapping likes of Fluttering Feelings fans. Thank you @sanctuary-for-strange-people (tumblr) for posting a Jasmine Thompson vid. I love and prefer the original version, but I also love a lot of her covers and her voice. ;)
P.P.S. Seol-a slayed me with the gazes in chapter 63, but this time I was slain by No-rae. You two make a handsome (not yet) couple.
