I like how the second floor of the beach house isn't actually sealed off, but the threatening aura of the dining trays stacked on the stairs is too powerful, so they just don't bother trying to go further up. It reminds me of the bizarre ways areas can be blocked off in some horror adventure games.

This is turning out just like almost every other sports manga I've attempted to read, with page after page of endless analysis of something I have neither knowledge of, nor any interest in. I didn't want to be "that guy", but I think I'll jump ship here and leave this one to the gaming fans.

As you can see here, there's most of volume 2 still to be translated, and having read what's here just now, I personally would quite like to see the rest of it. But it seems to have been abandoned.

The chapters about the Occult Research Club are the best part of this anthology. Canno really needs to do more comedy, or at least inject a bit more into her "serious" works. Actually, I was pleasantly surprised by how well she handles the 4-koma format in this one, given how easy it seems to be to make a complete pig's ear of it...

I think this is my favourite of all Canno's works. That probably says a lot about either me, or Canno, but don't ask me which.

It's interesting to compare Canno's previous thoughts on the topic of love triangles.

Seirin Academy is clearly a reference to "A kiss and a white lily" (the high school there, Seiran Academy, also had an attached university), and Nakatani Piyo's name is a reference to Nakatani Nio, the author of "Bloom into You". Are there any other yuri references I've missed in here?

And there I was thinking it was just a coincidence that the person who writes the end comments for Shinmai Shimai no Futari Gohan is called Sugimura Kei. You live and learn.
