Friday is a cannibal, from one of two warring tribes that live on nearby islands. IIRC, he has been captured by the other tribe, and Crusoe kills the captors to save him. To show his gratitude, Friday carves out the heart of one of the men, and offers it to Crusoe, who is horrified and refuses it, so Friday eats it himself.

It was many years since I read the book, so it might not be 100% accurate, but it's the gist of their meeting and the circumstances. "Friday" is what Crusoe calls the man, for reasons I don't remember.

Unfortunately, that is indeed how it ends. The thing with Kokomin is resolved in an earlier chapter. It did indeed feel really abrupt, and unfitting. The first volume is amazing, so I was excited when I bought vol. 2. Sadly, none of the chapters lived up to the first volume, and the ending was just a total sucker punch. :/

Himari wanted to find out "which Himari" senpai is in love with, and with the two sisters in the same place, senpai chose Airi without hesitation. Rather that confessing/explaining the situation, the two sisters decide to completely switch lives instead (Airi taking over Himari's life and vice versa). Quite a messed up ending...

Do you mean that it's a spread where the image is turned on the side, and thus taller? Either way, I suggest simply combining the pages like this. If you don't have perfect/digital scans (i.e. ones that don't meld together perfectly), you can splice them together by finding the right spacing, and adding a black/white line to fill the space between, like this.

Off the top of my head, the only one I can think of is the anime .hack//SIGN, although the character's disability plays no role in the story, and iirc, isn't even revealed until the final episode.

Probably the same reason as why many yuri manga have a tomboy/prince type character. It's dangerous to go full gay, so better just go around 70% gay. ;D

Keijo didn't have all that much yuri (though one character is 100% gay), but it's worth a watch for the sheer absurdity of it all. It's been long since an anime made me laugh as much as Keijo did... x)

Clownpiece's beaming smile reminds me too much of Azuma Kiyohiko's art to be a coincidence, lol.
