The picture reminded me of this short light yuri novel that I had read back a while ago. Not to spoil it too much but it had a scene similar to this and the girl almost became a yandere.

The light novel is completed and the beginning of the manga is different from what I remember to the light novel because it starts at the school gate I believe. Hopefully the storyline matches up.

Let's think happy thoughts. They actually got married but in another country that allows same sex marriage. They just couldn't get married in Japan like they wanted to. So their dream of getting married in Japan just couldn't come true.
