Ryousai kept the dream alive. Another reason I love this artist.
Movie had a lot of potential but felt kinda...something at the end - rushed? Hard to say. It was great but there was so much unexplored plot potential, and I think everything after the point where they fall asleep in the silo felt forced, like Ghibli realized the direction they were taking and couldn't afford to embrace it. I think it would've been the best possible plot twist if Marnie wasn't actually a past figure, but a present one, and all the "real" views of the marsh house were actually the figments of Anna's imagination.
