Not classifying it as cheating doesn't necessarily endorse the behavior. Missteps, mistakes, miscommunications, and being inconsiderate are not exclusive to cheating.

IT's because of real life situations like this that I'm happy and proud to have never fall in love. Being emotionaly slaved by somenone like this seems like a nightmare.

I really like how Mao is being so obviously compared to a tomcat. Even their positioning on page 4 reflects the way cats mate haha.

Bonus point that Mao just reads like "cat" in Chinese (猫, mao1)

Also it is cheating if you didn't communicate with your partner clearly before bringing other love/sex interests into your house. polyamory/monogamy is no excuse. (Honestly that's probably why poly people are seen as cheaters by many people)

Though I don't know how Mao thought of their relationship, either. She might even only thought of Hikaru as one of her sex friends, not even some serious romantic relationship.

Though that would be even worse for Hikaru, really. Imagine having the following conversations:
"Why are you cheating on me?"
