Chitose may actually have such a deep love for Ayano that she accepts that her special person has a crush for someone else, but by the time Ayano gets engaged to Kyoko, Chitose would realize that what she feels for Ayano is not just friendship. We already got glimpses of it in the series.
I don't ship in slice of life comedies like yuru yuri, I'm just reporting what I think Chizuru inner feelings for Ayano are.

Yuru Yuri doujins where the girls are grown up (here, they’re probably in high school) are always a treat. Even better when it’s Kyouko x Yui (best pair next to Himawari x Sakurako imho)

I know these two are probably endgame, even though I'm an Ayano fan, but just in terms of presentation...there's something not quite right about this. I can't put my finger on it.

I don't think we reach the Yuru Yuri endgame until there's at least one chapter of textual support for every pairing possible

Every chapter of textual support for every pairing will probably be blown up on the last page. What I expect is the principals sitting around in the clubroom acting up and making jokes as always.

Or maybe there will be a devastating reckoning of existing relationships in the formation of new ones, causing the girls to fall into cynicism and despair.

TBH, I'll be highly surprised if we get an actual endgame to Yuru Yuri. I fully expect the classic slice of life school comedy ending where the girls all graduate and life goes on as it always did.
