With season 2 coming out now I really hope that they make Junko (or someone else in franchouchou) canonically gay. She seems most likely if they did, and being a gay idol in the showa period would make for some good angst. I wouldn’t have hope for any other series but if Lily can be trans (and written super respectfully too), then they can write a canonically gay character too.
What better way to subvert the prevalence of yuribait in idol series than to give us an honest to goodness wlw idol.
