Is this an actual person or just the default name for any image with an unknown author? I seem to recall there's a ??? tag or something, so I guess it's the first?

Late response, but this tag is for when the author/artist posted something anonymously on purpose, i.e. 4chan. The ??? tag is for when we just don't know who the author/artist is.
