Hey Kittokatto :P It was definitely not a compliment haha. While I'm sober it's pretty clear she was telling me I should know that I don't have anything to worry about and am being stupid. In not so many words. I was drunk last night and continued it into watching the Warriors game with a lot of beer and donuts, so that's when I'm most likely to say unnecessary things. She told me even before we went out that things had fizzled between them and she was unhappy, so in my head I pictured a dreary witch lady. Meeting someone so completely different than what I imagined, it was pretty shocking lol...

I mean I've been riding on Harleys before I could walk a single step, so I guess that's why nobody was surprised when I decided to spend my working years with oil on my hands and gasoline in my lungs. XD

I wanted to surprise my mom with a trip home and take her out for the day, but I just can't make it happen this year :(

I think that's the standard here. In Taiwan and formerly in China, they celebrate father's day on August 8th, because in Mandarin "baba" means dad, but "ba" is also the sound for 8, so 8/8, ba/ba...

My parents do well for themselves but were really poor at one point and live as and raised their kids to be pretty frugal people. That's just how most of the Asian immigrant families I grew up around are. The only thing they aren't cheap about is fruit quality. Who knows why, but I've never bought a lower quality orange just because it's cheaper... and always buy 6 if you're giving them to someone else. I don't get it, but I do as I'm told lol.

Lol nothing earth-shattering I assure you, just enough visibility for me to want to keep it private. I don't ever travel as part of my actual job, but in recent history I was asked to do some stuff for promotional purposes. I prefer a quiet and easy-going daily life and my employers know this. They pretty much bribe me in some way to do that kind of stuff, and have some sort of tasty lunch to draw me into the office if I have to make an appearance...

Exactly. I mean, I studied and am doing what I'm doing now, because that's what I want to do. My parents have their jobs for the same reason. It's not about success, it's just about striving to get better at doing what you love so you can do more things in the field you feel best in. Some people earn more money for it, and others don't. As long as you feel happy and proud of what you're doing, what's the issue? ^_^
