It makes an odd kind of sense, too. Tatsumaki has really never shown the slightest bit of interest in any human being other than her sister, but she almost obsesses over Fubuki and her tendency to try to stop Fubuki from relying on (aka associating with, paying any attention to) anybody else could plausibly be some form of jealousy.
