tbf not every countires police system is straight up garbage, some do actually do something about domestic abuse.

but i wouldnt be suprised if japans system treat domestic abuse as "lovers quralles" and not something dangerous.

If you were told by someone that they have been locked in their home by their abuser, wouldn't you have some kind of reaction? Even if you know they're being abused, it's still shocking.
