I do not like the transphobic undercurrent here.
I wouldn't call it transphobic. It was not so subtlety implying that she got dumped by the trans woman after calling off the marriage probably cause the trans woman was straight or she thought the mc was straight.
The only time a trans woman in Japan would have an issue in marrying another woman is in changing their gender marker in the family registry (cause of same sex marriage laws) which is not required to have sex change surgery in Japan.
As a trans women myself if I lived in Japan I simply would not change my gender marker if it prevented me from marrying my wife. Cause while it would suck to be misgendered legally it would be a very small price to pay.
(PS legitimately sorry for this long rambly response to such a small comment and such a small detail in the story but I already typed it out so might as well post it...)
