What I’m looking for is definitely a manga. I really only remember the one scene and it’s stuck in my head. It has the couple established and one of the couple refuses to let her girlfriend over to her house but the girlfriend is really curious. She takes the train to her station and calls her and tells her to come pick her up which she does. Apparently the youngest brother spots the sister bringing a friend over and calls all the older brothers to come over and see the sister friend. And the sister is really embarrassed the whole time. Basically she never wanted her girlfriend over because her brothers are really embarrassing and dote on her and she even mentions that they don’t treat each other like that, just her.

i kind of hate endings where they confess, kiss and walk off to the future together on principle, especially since they didn't even show the damn kiss my god, but it was at least beautiful and felt appropriate for the tone of the series. it was all just too predictable- you could see exactly how it would end like, years ago.

i've read too much yuri to be satisfied with this kind of fairy tale ending anymore.

I'm looking for something where the two leads are for sure definitely head over heels almost fluffy in love, but where a not-small part of the drama of the story is how they handle their relationship being at best taboo and at worst illegal. I want that struggle to actually be a big component of the story! I tried "I Met My Sister on a Dating Site" and I liked it well enough but it only pays lipservice to that struggle it doesnt actually get into it. Any recommendations from you guys?

I’d prefer a web comic since it’s way better on your phone and I don’t think she’d want to read on a desktop. Somewhere I can get on a site without adds. Like here or mangadex or on a licensed apps, or Webtoons.

Also, she’s not that exposed to anime or manga so super referential things from a Japanese comic she won’t get, but she does watch k-dramas so she’s probably likely to recognize referential things like a Korean web comic

All 3 completed, free, and require really no knowledge of asian media (cause they're western lol) which match the format you want and have varying levels of plot seriousness.

All great series, but I don't think I wanna go with those. I wanna introduce her to the genre so I definitely want something shorter, something with multiple seasons might scare her off.

I really wanna introduce her to the genre as a whole so want something kinda formulaic hitting the classic troupes. Big props for something along the vibe of young adult fantasy or historical drama since those are the kinda novels she reads. But student is what comes to my mind for a classic for GL genre so that'd also be good.

I want something with really mature art and even mature scenes. She's like a closeted sucker for those spicy moments in SUPER moderation. Gore can be plentiful though if it's like war or vampires or something.

i have a comic in my head that i've been thinking of lately and it's been so long the details are not great so i don't think i'll get any luck but i'd figured i'd ask. it was the first korean comic i read, it was around 5 years+ ago i believe. it revolved around bulling. it was extreme bullying, super physical and abusive stuff. i'm pretty sure it was in the manga format rather than webtoon because i didn't know about the resize button. the one specific point i remember is there was like a secret base of a cluster of lockers and one locker had a hole cut out of it as a secret entrance... yeah, i know it's not a lot to go on

Anything where the characters just kinda admire and discuss each other's physical traits. They do this a lot in Virgin's Empire, and I find it surprisingly captivating.
