Considering how defensive people here are about drug use and proclaiming to be so much more knowledgable than Suzuki, is such an accusation really such a stretch?

People kept hyperfocusing on the specifics of the drug being used when that wasn't the point, though. A lot of people just are kinda tired of the equal moral policing done by the "oh the author didn't research drugs therefore bad propaganda!!", which is tiring and comes off as batting in favor of drugs rather than actually engaging with the work's contents in good faith. Adachi the narrator probably doesn't even know what the drug is called and didn't seem interested in knowing more, so how would you convey that information in the story itself?

I don't like the story, but that's entirely due to personal reasons - me being a sentimental weenie that managed to connect with the characters way more than most people apparently had. Honestly, I don't think I can read an ongoing series or even a single-volume manga of this like some suggested, it'd just be a bit too much.

That was depressing. Kinda wish I didn't read it when I'm emotionally compromised, but yeah.

Also, like, I get the frustration regarding not well-researched drug use, but it's pretty clear that Tsukushi was using drugs to cope with the troubles in her life - she's emotionally delicate and she's just not doing too hot in general. The drugs didn't make her suicidal or emotionally distressed (that came from outside factors), it just loosened her and Adachi's inhibitions to the point Adachi fucked up. The specifics of what drugs were used isn't the point, it's the circumstances in which it is used and what it does to a relationship.

The last bit was gratuitous and kinda unnecessary, though. Like. What was the point? Was it just tragedy for tragedy's sake?

Yea, I think it's less gay erasure and more Pokémon upholding a "no romance, no kissing" policy. The closest we got to full-on romance was that one kiss at the end of the Kalos anime and that one guy giving you Protect after your heart-to-heart with Shauna in X and Y.

It's really off-putting how everyone keeps insisting Otome must really care for Kazura because otherwise why would she stay close when by all accounts they really aren't. By all accounts Kazura is just purely being used for infinite favours and only favours.

Like they seemingly only meet up on Otome's direction and only so Kazura can hand over whatever new thing Otome wants from her. Like straight up stop telling Kazura that Otome must really like her somehow lmao

To be fair, Yuki (the guy) was also a victim of Otome's abuse. It's hard to recognize when you're being manipulated, even years after the fact, so it's really the blind leading the blind here.

That being said, fuck Otome with a rusty chainsaw. I hope the story ends with Yuki, Kinka, and Kazura deciding not to kill themselves and instead beat up Otome together, JJBA Part 5 style.

There's literally no source provided here, and if there was truly something problematic about the two the vtuber drama community would already be in arms about it and yet there is absolutely nothing, so I'd advise you guys to take that accusation with a barrel of salt.

Coming back to this again.

Still conflicted. I get the feeling of suicide as the only solution they can think of in this world overrun by "zombies", but it still feels morally wrong somehow, to see it spelled out so blatantly like that.

It's probably just me, honestly. I can't seem to leave those feelings that say that suicide is actually a good thing behind no matter what. The idea of suicide being this permanent solution to a temporary problem - but a solution regardless.

I hope the two girls have a better life, wherever they are going.
