Even as an ADD (no HD for me) person, I think that tangent is irrelevant. But I do think tis is an excellent story, as measured by becoming actually attached to the characters.

Threw me for a loop. I don't think I'm being pedantic. "Bait" is a hunting and fishing term, referring to something that the hunter puts out to attract a larger/more desirable prey. The hunter will typically remain out of view until the desired prey arrives to "take the bait". I don't see anything that says the story can't go in that direction.

To me this counts as a happy ending. The story was not about accurate science or employment opportunities. The story is about betrayal and abandonment that was to a sentient human being, a being created with no options to get over it and love someone else. She was created with only one purpose, and now her creator was going to murder her. She did what she needed to do to survive. Kei-san was a total non-empathetic jerk. Now she is a better person.

I'll agree with everyone - it is absolutely darling. But....... there needs to be more.

I loved it. With even a happy ending that could even happen. If you're together, you get the strength to withstand THEM, those who can't abide what you stand for.

It's really confusing to read if you don't realize that the white-haired girl from the first page of the first chapter isn't actually Aki, because the further in the story you get, the less sense that makes :P
